Lusory, 4yo colt (Shamadral - Playful Act, by Sadler's Wells) died sometime in 2017 according to his Racingpost page.
He was the last foal out of Champion, G1SW Playful Act, who sold for a then World Record broodmare price of $10.5 million in 2007.

Terrible news to pass on as @LanesEndFarms announces that City Zip has been euthanized at age 19 due to chronic foot problems.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

That's a big loss, as City Zip was one of those slightly under-the-radar stallions who could sire top runners for every surface and any distance. :(
Is there a really good son of his at stud who will carry his line on?
ETA: I looked up his Stallion Register page and so many of his best runners have been mares or geldings. One nice colt still racing is Collected...and I suspect that his value just went up.

Sad to hear about City Zip. We always take note when one of his babies show up in races here. Off the top of my head, I suppose maybe Palace or Run Away and Hide or a sire like Majestic City can step up and carry on his sire line. They'll have to do it the hard way though, just like papa did.

City Zip gave us some great racing memories in the summer of 2000 going on a nice run in NY.

There's a 2017 death report filed with the Jockey Club for Pike Place Dancer, winner of the 1996 Kentucky Oaks. I haven't seen any articles about it, though.
