Casse even said the day they withdrew him that he could've popped the abscess that night and would've been fine and 100% sound, which is true, but they didn't want to push him and wanted to give him a rest.

Of all the things to complain about when it comes to stallions....

Almost* kept him from the Derby ;)

Yeah I don't know what I was smoking when I wrote that. I think I was thinking of his shortened prep schedule to the Derby.

Hope he makes it back to the races soon, the 3 year olds are boring without him.

Last I heard when they pulled out of the Haskell they were still aiming for the Travers and wanted to give him more time off.

"There is nothing wrong. He's just not been himself and we are just kind of being really patient with him," Casse said from Saratoga. "I told Mr. Oxley after (Classic Empire) hurt himself at Belmont, with the foot, that we're just going to let him tell us when he wants to start running and wanting to do things. That's kind of where we're at.

give the horse a break

I feel like at this point they may as well just give him some time off on the farm and bring him back next year. Sometimes the best thing is allowing a horse to just be a horse...
