I'm assuming the Canadian-bred Take Charge Eh is named that because Canada, eh?
Not understanding why that's such a horrible name. More amusing than horrible...

This has probably been mentioned (possibly by me) but "Walks Like a Duck" has to be on this list.

I hate it when the horse is named Mr. or Ms. or Mrs
something but they leave off the period, case in point new stakes winner Mr Dumas.

"Alright dude, so you've finally managed to save enough money to buy and race your own thoroughbred. Your childhood dream. What are you going to name your colt?"

"Hmmm....how about."

Really?

My Pop used to say there are some people that would complain if “Ya hung ‘em with a new rope.” Ben Franklin lamented about the lack of a nail, now, I guess it’s lack of a period.😉

Y'all should talk to my husband. He's obsessed with race horse names. He doesn't remember to put out the recycling half the time, but he can remember some racehorse whose name he thought was hilarious. There was a local horse named Dad's Act of Love. Then there was Smelly, who was actually a Derby contender back in the late 80s/early 90s.
What is a mere individual to do? Live as sane and decent a life as you can, love your family and friends and understand that everybody is in this together.

By the In Reality stallion Judge Smells, sire of quite a few other "Judges" as well as several that play on his "surname": Sniffed, Smells and Bells, Scent of Honey and Cigar Smoke.

I've never liked the name Hoof Hearted. I've always wondered how that name was ever accepted by the Jockey Club.

Disability Charm b.1995 (Soul Warrior x Runnin On Empty) She's Jamaican so perhaps a mistranslation?
Jewish Guilt b. 2018 (Curlin x Coco's Wildcat)
Gun Control b. 2018 (Medaglia d'Oro x Beautiful But Blue)

I found a standardbred named Shartin N (Tintin in America x Bagdarin).
