I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Raining pretty good right now, Sunday evening, at Santa Anita.
Main track looks to be sealed.
Turf course soaking it up.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Vasilika hardly ever puts a hoof wrong but I'm going with Rymska in the Gamely. I really like her going 1-1/8 miles and I think she will appreciate the extra sixteenth.

Gold Cup: Really, really hard to look past Gift Box who looks to have his opponents over a barrel here.

I respect Catapult in the Shoemaker Mile, but I'm giving Delta Prince the slight edge. I think he's turned the corner this season with a solid third in the Pegasus World Cup Turf (further than he wanted to go) and a big win going away at Keeneland back at the mile distance.

Who is this Stronach Stable running a horse at SantaAnita? I seem to recall them from a couple years back, but nothing in recent memory!

Vino Rosso takes the Gold Cup over Gift Box. Lone Sailor was third.

Well, as the mother of the Bolo thread, this makes me very happy! I never expected to see him again, and now he's knocking on the million dollar door.

It makes me happy too. I hate to admit it, but I took him out of my VS early this year to make way for the newly minted two year olds. I'm glad for all who kept the faith in him!

I'm glad he's come back so well, although I wish the handsome son of Temple City had found a farm that wanted to stand him.

That was a fun day of racing, but geez, Delta Prince... I really thought he’d run better. Nice surprise win by Bolo, who still has it!
Vasilika is a gem.
I think Vino Rosso ran a good race, but Gift Box cooked himself running after those fractions and maybe got tired? I also am not convinced he’s a true 10-furlong horse.
