Tacitus the lone Belmont Stake contender to breeze this a.m. at Belmont Park. Never a flashy worker, he looked sharper than ever today, 5F in 25.55 36.16 1:00.20 going easily in co. with Muliplier. Was full of energy going out 3/4's 1:12.75 up 7F in 1:25.10 w/Jose Ortiz up.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

i expect riderless horses, interference, an errant flock of geese on the track, and a dog that broke free from its humans tryin to join the race. anything less and i'm going to complain.

What? No flamingo races? And at least 1 escaped hippo from the Bronx Zoo.

Would you all settle for a loose pony (a real one) at Pimlico? They held pony races earlier this weekend.

After a slight stumble inside 1/8-pole of his work Master Fencer seemed to be walking OK back at barn. Will be examined fully by vet later.

Master Fencer's Belmont stock took a dip after Japanese invader worked 7F in 1:27.69 on main track, took bad step nearly unseating rider when under severe left-hand pressure, changing leads late at 1/16th pole. Pulled up quickly on gallop out. Oddly wore bell boots for workout.

Bell boots for a workout? Heck, I'd trip too with those rubber contraptions flapping around my ankles. :P :D

Would the promised drama that will happen if War of Will wins, be good enough? lol

But seriously, I would love for some crazy stuff to happen (so long as no human or animal is hurt)

Master Fencer has slight inflammation in his left front ankle. Getting x-rays now on both front ankles. Jogged satisfactory for the vets.

Master Fencer is doing good even after breeze today. It was just unfortunate stumble that happened when he was speeding the most. So just in case, we asked vet to exam & got second opinion. We hope you will not be influenced by inaccurate info & rumors.

Trainer Danny Gargan said Tax is “50-50” to run in the Belmont. “He worked good, but it wasn’t awesome,” Gargan said.

For those who care (including those attending and those wagering), forecast for the week shows little to no threat of rain, other than passing storms this evening.

For those attending, forecast of 72 degrees and only 60% humidity. Those who've attended in the past recognize how significant this part of the forecast truly is.

Tacitus looks to be coming into the race nicely. I’ll be rooting for him.

Hell, I would go just for that.
