The Met is always a fun race, and this year may give us a match-up between sprinters like Mitole and middle-distance runners like Thunder Snow. Cool.

Amen.
The undercard races will be the highlight of the day beyond the Belmont Stakes, imo, which threatens to be an afterthought. I might even have to consider beating the traffic and bailing a little early unless i'm alive in some multi race wagers......….who's the evening entertainment this year, post race?
Flo Rida, which everyone except myself is unhappy about.
I don't think the traffic will be that bad because I don't see that many people going. Although when we bought tickets there really weren't that many left.

Looks like the Belmont might be War of Will vs. Tacitus for the most part.
We haven't had a Preakness/Belmont double in a while, so I'm excited to see if we get one (2006 I think?). They're both bred for it, but Tacitus is rested, War of Will is on relatively short rest, and we'll get to find out how much will WOW really has deep down.
The Met will be the best race on the card no doubt but the Belmont is a close second, in my view. No afterthought here.

As it stands right now, I think the Belmont field is excellent. Game Winner, Tacitus, and War of Will alone would make it an intriguing race, but horses like Owendale, Global Campaign, Tax, and even Master Fencer really give it some depth. Certainly ahead of some of the brutal fields from around a decade ago.
That being said, the Met Mile looks absolutely amazing.
