Cotillion Winner It Tiz Well Diagnosed With Ankle Chip, Future Plans Uncertain
Winner of the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes at Parx on Sept. 23, the now 4-year-old filly It Tiz Well has not had a start since that effort. The daughter of Arch was aiming for a start in the Breeders' Cup Distaff, but a foot issue kept her out of the World Championships.

Mopotism gets a break from Unique Bella and Paradise Woods, but what about Mended (!), a $12,500 claim! Has her win streak broken, but only by a head bob to Mopotism. What a game filly she is in the La Canada (G2).

That was the best race I saw today, and I LOVE the backstory on Mended. I hope she gets to start another streak in her next race...and never has to venture down to the claiming level again.

Champagne Room may be retired with foot injury
Champagne Room may be retired with foot injury
http://www.drf.com/news/champagne-room- ... nable=trueChampagne Room, the champion 2-year-old filly of 2016, is sidelined with a foot injury and may be retired to be bred, trainer Peter Eurton said Thursday.
Eurton said Champagne Room faces a 90-day rest caused by a hairline fracture in a foot and that the filly’s owners are debating whether to keep her in training.
“They’re considering some offers for her,” Eurton said. “If we did decide to keep her in training, she won’t race again until July.”
Eurton said the foot injury was detected earlier this week.
“We had to put a bar shoe on it to give it support,” he said. “We’ll X-ray it again in 90 days. She’s not in any danger. They could wait and race her.”
Champagne Room is owned by a partnership that includes Sharon Alesia, Ciaglia Racing, Exline-Border Racing, and Gulliver Racing. By Broken Vow, Champagne Room has won 3 of 9 starts and earned $1,490,660.
Champagne Room earned her championship with an upset win in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita in November 2016. She was sidelined with an ankle injury last February and returned to win the Remington Park Oaks in Oklahoma City last September.
Champagne Room was sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Del Mar on Nov. 3 and second in the Grade 2 Bayakoa Stakes at Los Alamitos on Dec. 3 in her latest start. She was in training for the Grade 3 Sam Houston Ladies Classic on Jan. 28.

Champagne Room retired, sold to Japanese interests
http://www.drf.com/news/champagne-room- ... nable=trueChampagne Room, the champion 2-year-old filly of 2016, has been retired and sold privately to Japanese interests, trainer Peter Eurton said Wednesday.
Champagne Room was recently diagnosed with a hairline fracture in a foot that would have required a lengthy recovery time. Last week, Eurton said the partnership that owns the filly was contemplating a private sale, or keeping Champagne Room in training.
On Wednesday, Eurton said Champagne Room is at his stable at Santa Anita but is expected to be exported to Japan in coming weeks.
