Did he retire? I know he took a couple years off and tried a comeback in 2017. Just ran into his name looking up something and had forgotten about him. I tried looking for a retirement article but in his comeback article he said he would never announce his retirement.

I got curious to this a while back. I have a vague memory of looking at his Facebook page, where he posted things along the lines of "he had been wronged".

I wanted to confirm with my trainer before I posted, because details get a little fuzzy for me sometimes. We heard he went to Barbados. I always liked seeing him and his great big smile at the track. I hope he's doing well and still riding, but I don't see him in the 2019 statistics.

It's a tough game if you can't make it at the top level. I haven't thought about Kevin Krigger in years but that's on me. He was a decent rider who apparently couldn't crack through.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I think jocks are like horses and water, eventually they find their level. Krigger was fine at Emerald Downs and I think he could do alright in No. CA. He just wasn’t good enough to make it on the big stage, consistently. I think he got frustrated with that. Some jocks do. Danny Velasquez will still tell you, matter of factly, that jocks don’t make a dime of difference, it’s all the horse. Velasquez still hung tough and made a living at the track though.

He showed up at Emerald Downs last weekend and looks to maybe be hanging around for a bit since he's had a couple really good days already. :D
