Were the stallions in Peru there on loan or owned by the farm? I read on and it looks like a lease. The Bloodhorse story reported one broker who said this will impact shuttling because insurance companies won't insure the horses.

The armed men must have been strong. And have a sense of what they were at--like the show and pet horses recently killed in Florida. There must not have been intercoms in the building or cameras or someone not in the barn would have been alerted by the screaming horses.

14 year old horse meat can't be good to eat-if food was the objective. I hope the night watchman is alive.

There was 1 night guard as it is a small breeding farm. He was shot, I think he’s still alive, not sure though. He probably wouldn’t have been able to get to any intercoms to call for help. The Lieutenant was on loan. He was supposed to come back to the U. S. soon. 😢😢

That is my thought as well. If food had been the real objective, they would have gone after horses with more tender and tastier meat. There must be thousands of horses in Peru that meet those criteria, are not guarded as well, where one doesn't need to risk incurring a murder charge, etc, etc.
