2017 Preakness runner and Arkansas Derby runner-up Conquest Mo Money has been retired from racing because of a recurring suspensory injury, according to trainer Miguel Hernandez. Hernandez says he's going to stud, but doesn't know the details of where and for how much.

Remember GSW Chips All In? I met him at Santa Anita during that 2013 Breeder's Cup and have some cute pictures of him admiring his picture on my friend's t-shirt (she was a part owner at that time). So glad he's safely retired.

(1/11) This is the first Twitter thread I've ever written. I'm thrilled to be able to share this story, and the timing is perfect with the start of the holiday season. So, thank you for indulging in this story about an overachieving racehorse with a happy ending...

(2/11) Chips All In was purchased for $4,500 as a yearling at @keenelandsales in 2010. He wasn't very big. When someone told co-owner Danny Valdez that he had a nice horse, Danny's response was, "Him? He's a runt." But, a big heart would ultimately make up for small size...

(3/11) Chips All In debuted without fanfare, winning a maiden claimer at @GGFracing in June 2011. After another win, his connections shipped him to Arapahoe Park in Colorado where he won the $100K Gold Rush Futurity during my first season as announcer... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMMf2DjU0xg …

(4/11) Chips All In returned to California and became an accomplished sprinter on turf, winning multiple graded stakes at @santaanitapark. He became the first horse to race in Colorado to run in the @BreedersCup when entered in the Turf Sprint in 2013... http://jjhorowitz.com/first-colorado-ho ... eders-cup/

(5/11) Chips All In would become the answer to another horse racing Jeopardy! question as the final stakes winner in the career of all-time-winningest jockey Russell Baze in the 2016 Albany Stakes at @GGFracing. But, Chips All In's story would take a troubling turn...

(6/11) Chips All In was claimed for $32K as an 8-year-old in 2017. He was slowing down, but his new owners continued racing him at lower and lower levels. @thorntontd wrote about it in @theTDN after Chips All In pulled up injured in a race in Idaho...
http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/fo ... daho-fair/

(7/11) The sad saga continued in 2018 when Chips All In returned as a 9-year-old in races in Utah, Oregon and Nevada, eventually dropping all the way to a $7,500 claiming race at @ZiaParkCasino in New Mexico. But, this is when the story starts to take a turn for the better...

(8/11) @sluhm, who had written about Chips All In for the @sltrib because his original owners were from Utah, DMed me on October 30, "If I had $7,500 I'd claim him and figure out a place to send him for retirement" I had the same idea. The horse deserved a new life and career...

(9/11) We brought original owner Danny Valdez into the conversation, and he wanted to do something good for the horse that had done so much for him. So, we approached the new connections about buying Chips All In before he raced. Sadly, they wanted to keep running the horse...

(10/11) After a last-place finish, they still wouldn't sell and wanted to run him again, this time at a lower $5,000 claiming level on Sunday. Danny put the pieces together to claim back his old horse and retire him. It's incredible to see a former owner give back like this...

(11/11) Jodi Perkins and fiance trainer Ty Garrett helped facilitate the claim to retire Chips All In. They deserve a lot of credit. Here is the horse after his 52nd and final race. He won 14 of them and earned $626K. He'll ship to Utah to be at a barn near Danny, a happy ending.

So glad Far Right made it to retirement. He's been in my fantasy stable forever. It's been tough watching him go down the ladder. He always tried.

2017 Australian Derby winner Jon Snow (Iffraaj-Orinda by O'Reilly) has been retired with owners currently negotiating a stud deal for the 5yo. His pedigree is fascinating as he is famously a descendant of 1970s New Zealand super filly Soliloquy
