I would presume so. A horse's sense of smell, sight and hearing are much keener than ours, and the smells, etc. of the place where he spent the first months of his life are probably imprinted on Vyjack.

LOOKOUT COUNTY (15.3hh 2009 BC-bred M 79-starts) became a new OTTB at @CaribbeanOTTB farm July 2nd! This beauty had a thorough vet eval w/ X-rays. She has some arthritis & such from her racing days, but has been given green light for a lower-level athletic career after letdown

2017 New Zealand Derby winner GINGERNUTS has been officially retired this morning after a injury suffered in Australia before the start of the G1 Emirates Stakes in November last year. As always Kudos to jockey Michael Dee who immediately pulled him up and waved down the vets. Though his injury has healed well it was decided it was too much of a risk to race again.
Gingernuts had a cult following in New Zealand, Australia and around the world mainly thanks to his 35 owners (many first time owners) wearing their orange GNutz hats when he raced

Here is Gingernuts winning the 2017 Avondale Guineas. It wasn't his most prestigious win, as he won the New Zealand Derby at his next start, but it was his most impressive!
