~ Srivaddhanaprabha, the Thai business magnate who owned Leicester City football club and the and founder of King Duty Free, died in a plane crash four days ago. He leaves behind a wife and four children.

New Zealand stallion Ekraar (USA) (Red Ransom-Sacahuista) has passed away at the age of 21. He raced mostly in Europe winning a G1 in Italy, running second in the HK Vase, and third in the Dubai Sheema among other races.

At stud in New Zealand he produced 2× G1 winners, from small crops of foals, New Zealand Derby winner Habibi (now at stud in USA) and multiple G1 winner Shez Sinsational who produced her first winner yesterday.

He spent his last few years at Newmarket Stud in New Zealand and was clearly much loved

Robert P. Levy, known universally as Bob and a widely-respected figure in the world of Thoroughbred racing, sports, philanthropy and civic affairs passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, close to his home in Bryn Mawr, Penn. He was 87 years of age.

Exercise Rider, Horse Killed Saturday Morning in Training Accident at Churchill Downs

Odanis Acuna, a 42-year-old native of Cuba, had worked for McPeek for about 10 years. He also worked for a local horse-feed company.

The horse was New York Harbor, an unstarted 2-year-old Verrazano colt who had to be euthanized, said McPeek.

It is my fervent hope that this horse was drugged to the gills when they trailered him 5 1/2 hours to Rood & Riddle with this injury.
