Kizuna(JPN) takes the Niel, beating Ruler of the World(IRE), Ocovango(GB) and Flintshire(GB).

His jockey Yutaka Take has just commented that his horse was about 85% today.

That was an intersting stretch battle between the Japanese Derby winner and the Epsom Derby winner.

I believe that both horses had ideal preps.

Wooooooohooooooo!

This is going to be a very interesting Arc. I'm rooting sooooo much for Orfevre. Although Treve, Kizuna and Ruler of the World won't make it any easier. Especially with the weight spread which evens things out.

Aaaaaaah can't wait!

Orfevre looked impressive, but hard to know what to make of that as he beat absolutely nothing and did it in a very pedestrian 2m41s.
A nice paid workout I suppose.

The 3yo race, hard to know what to make of that one either, as you get the impression the French horses were just shadow boxing.
There's a reason these races are G2s I suppose.

Treve looks like the real deal, you'd have to seriously fancy her chances in the Arc.

Today Orfevre ran much better than I had expected.
That was his second start of the year off a 165 days layoff including the setback caused by his bleeding.
Glad that he still looks like being in his fine form at his age and after the rough year.

Yeah, I agree, it's hard to evaluate his performance today with that very slow win time.
But, to me, his acceleration in the stretch was much more impressive than anyone else today at least.

Their final 200m and win time were:
Orfevre: 12.01 (with jockey eased) / 2:41.47
Kizuna: 12.02 / 2:37.64
Treve: 12.06 / 2:36.82

For me, it's going to be a toss-up between Orfevre and Treve in the Arc.

pretty cool seeing the English and Japanese derby winners duking it out. Orfevre's turn of foot is just scary, and as far as treve goes, my heart was in my throat at the top of the stretch

That's our girl.

I have to have her as my number one - with rooting interests for Orfevre and Al Kazeem.
