Accident Prevention
Soooo, what do the authorities say to Mr Pletcher and Mr Repole now.....
Today's third race at Aqueduct there was an entry from them.
Last time out, a Tonalist filly - Always A Queen ran in a straight maiden affair for her 2nd lifetime race and was pulled up on the backstretch and walked off the course under her own power.
Today, about a month later she is entered for a $30,000 claiming tag. Based on her first race, plus 3 regularly scheduled weekly workouts since being pulled up, the public unloaded at the windows sending her off as the 4/5 favorite.
When last seen, she was "limping" across the finish line, not sure what the chart will say but beaten 77 lengths won't be far off, and I'm a little curious to see if she got claimed.
What do you say should have been done to prevent a performance like that?

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.
Open vet records. Would protect the betting public and the people who maybe want to claim her too.
Edit to say: doubt they would even let her start then, cause there won't be any chance they could unload her. What else can I say about it, absolutely disgusting. I hope nobody claimed her and that her injury isn't worse and they retire her now and retrain her.

It was a sarcastic remark, because someone else said that on this forum are a few posters who are happy when another horse gets hurt.stark wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 2:55 pmWTF, who said that, PETA?Somnambulist wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 2:52 pmThank God another horse was hurt so I can stick it to them! Take a look at that crowd of fans and gamblers at Aqueduct. Do they really impress you as a group that could decipher vet records from multiple resources? I think not. What the public has done in lieu of vet records is develop profiles on trainers, who can be trusted and who can't in certain situations then wager accordingly. On occasion there's one like today from Pletcher that slips thru the cracks.
If there isn't already, there should be HIPAA for horses.

Step one is to train vets on how to write industry standard medical records, get back to me when that's accomplished, thanks.

Just to clarify for those reading, the chart says Always a Queen was uninjured. (http://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEm ... y=USA&rn=4). It seems she wants nothing to do with being a racehorse. Edited to add that she was uninjured in today's race as well: http://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEm ... y=USA&rn=3
This thread appears to exist only because stark is aggrieved towards certain people who have critcized SA while complimenting Pletcher and Repole. If there were any genuine interest in breakdown prevention efforts, surely one of the several other threads on this topic would have done nicely.

If true, then why enter her again after that race you provided the chart for?Tessablue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 5:12 pmJust to clarify for those reading, the chart says Always a Queen was uninjured. Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing
What is the point of this? Elitism? Racism? Both?stark wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:12 pm

God you're awful.
You're the one who posted a picture of a mix of races saying that they can't figure out a vet record. If you don't want to be called it don't act like it.
Well Stark, you basically said that "look at that crowd, you think they can figure that out?" Implying that the average gambler is stupid. So if you dish it out like that, insulting a whole bunch of people, you have to be able to take it too.
