I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

It's too bad Battash's last race discouraged his connections from bringing him over. When he's on (and behaving in the stalls), he's a rocket...and IIRC, he likes his turf on the firmer side.

And it’s downhill too. Battash has been absolutely devastating at Goodwood which is also a downhill course (though it is a straight downhill 5F course with no turn)

Gonna go for Belvoir Bay here.

It would be pretty cool if Om upset, though.

Curious, what is it about BBay you like, 12-1 seems like a great price!

I really like the last couple of races she ran and she's already run well against males (her close 4th in the Jaipur is one of her best races, I think. Honestly looked like she'd run WoT down). Plus, she has a nice record at Santa Anita.

Thanks, I wish Prat would have stuck around.

5f at Santa Anita is not on the downhill course.

I’ve always liked her but I’d prefer her down the hill. Good post though. Does Team Valor still own a piece of her?

I like Belvoir Bay too. She can run with Blue Point and World of Trouble, both of whom are leagues better than anyone in this field. The layoff is a concern but Miller brought Stormy Liberal into this race off a similar layoff in 2017, albeit with more works. Afraid she's really going to come down in price though.

Also think Pure Sensation might finally get his time to shine, although he's hurt by Shekky Shebaz drawing into the field. Anyone have an angle on Eddie Haskell? I can't find anything interesting about him and 9/2 is terrible.

Eddie Haskell’s a nice horse if not a bit insincere.😉 He’s been the best turf sprinter in CA throughout the year, at least the best still standing. The feeling was time and time again that Stormy Liberal was always in need of a race when in truth, he lost a step. If you think Pee Wee Reese would have been near unbeatable in here, then Eddie’s got a shot but he’s not worth it at 9/2. I’d play him at 6-1, I do think he may drift a bit but probably not that much.

Perfect, thank you! Sounds like he wouldn't be a surprise, but it's fine to shop elsewhere. Certainly on figures there are a lot of options here.

Good old Stormy... I can't wait to waste a few dollars on him. I know he hasn't run anywhere near his best lately, but even several steps back from last year's effort would still win this. Mostly I just love him though, and he would be pretty amazing if he and Leinster both ran well. Have followed their dam for a long time now.

It would really be something if Om finally got the job done. I always forget he's still around and running.

I didn’t realise Belvoir Bay was involved in the San Luis Ray fire, what a story it would be if she could win this!

Shekky attracting the big Ragozin sheet players money, they move board, down to 5/1 off of 12/1 ML. But still worth a bet in wide open affair.

That is a fairy tale come true; a mare who nearly died in the San Luis Rey fire, and who was lost for two days, has just run the fastest BC Turf Sprint ever.

I was ridin’ Om harder than the jock to get him up for the place. That’s the second time I won the exacta in the Turf Sprint with Om completing the exacta.
