What are peoples thoughts on the Juvenile/Juvenile Fillies on Future Stars Friday? I'm putting together a small straight accumulator and so far have Arizona and Kimari. I'm struggling to choose between Eight Rings and Dennis' Moment in the Juvy and Bast, Donna Veloce or British Idiom in the Fillies.

Love Kimari, but Arizona just drew post 12 (O'Brien has had a brutal draw so far). Haven't really looked at the race yet, but that's going to make his task tougher. Dennis' Moment will have to go from the rail, but I think he's handy enough that it won't bother him much. Completely avoiding Eight Rings as I wasn't a big fan even before his questionable work the other day. The Juvy Fillies... anything could happen in that race. Might look for a bomb in it.

Covfefe just drew the rail... oooof. Only a field of 9 though??

Great draw for Imperial Hint outside all but one. Mitole in the 4 spot should be okay, but Catalina Cruiser is going to need all the help he can get on the rail.

Diamond Oops in the Dirt Mile. Hello windows...

Side note....it's a shame what that owner/'trainer' is doing recently to that poor horse, Bon Raison. Has him in again on Friday.
I was following for a while then it sickened me. Has horse had any break at all in forever? I'm afraid to look.

Okay, since I am having difficulty with time still, am I reading things right that TV coverage begins at 3:30 pm EST?? So the F&M Sprint isn't being televised live on NBCSN? It will only be available live via TVG and the Breeders Cup website? Can anyone confirm, before I tell people to put on NBCSN at 2:00 pm EST and they'll get a fishing show or the National Collegiate Cornhole championships?

I've asked the source what they're showing.

I have no idea about that. I'll be watching the Santa Anita feed, muted, from Aqueduct.

such a shame when a horse has to scratch just a few days before the BC - tvg reporting just now that Maxfield is out of the BC juve - so disappointing... he had been looking so great - no other details yet....

Nice back story about Imperial Hint and his connections from DRF:

https://www.drf.com/news/small-mighty-i ... rint?type=

And in the name of equal time, Mitole's exercise rider earning his pay this morning:

Oh man, Mitole has looked absolutely incredible at SA. I don't want to root against him, so can we get a dead heat in the Sprint?

Absolutely loved that story. Have you seen this video? https://twitter.com/Vowtohonor/status/1 ... contenders
That was so sweet it made me teeth hurt, lol. Mitole is going to be tough, hope the little fella brings one of his Spa races with him. . .

An experienced opinion looking for a couple of live longshots....

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Just to confirm, does the mile and a half turn race start on the Santa Anita hillside and cross over the dirt course before resuming on turf for the majority of the race?

The reason I ask is because I thought that was at the crux of the issue in deciding not to run the 6 1/2 furlong sprint races down the hill.

Probably an easy explanation I just missed somewhere along the line, thanks.

In the 6.5F races down the hill, the horses are travelling at a high rate of speed when they cross the dirt, which perhaps may have contributed to the almost double the rate of fatalities per thousand in those races vs the overall fatality rate. In the distance races, 10F and 12F during this BC, the horses will be going considerably slower when they cross the dirt, presumably creating at most a negligible effect. I assume that is the reason it is acceptable for the distance races and not the sprints. Perhaps I'm wrong, but logic suggests that's the reason.
