Its a shame the 3yo has a cringe worthy name ugh.

I'm more excited about the weekend than I have been in awhile. Thankfully I won't even need to cut out of work too early to catch all of Friday.

I'm looking forward to seeing American Theorem and Wrecking Crew in the Juvenile. Not sure if the distance is in AT's wheelhouse currently but he ran a really nice race in the American Pharoah.

Both dirt sprint races, no? Boys are deep and talented top to bottom. Fillies, while it doesn't go very deep (imo), have the classic matchup of top 3yo filly vs top older mare.
I don't find the F&M Sprint overly compelling, but I wish the connections of Secret Spice would actually try to win a BC race and run her in here and not the Distaff where she has very little chance. She would be a very interesting player in the Sprint.

She’s probably not quite fast enough and she’ll probably bounce to the moon, but I’ll probably throw a couple of dollars on Spiced Perfection who has become a favorite of mine. I wish Koriner had been able to keep her but business being business, I guess. Even up against it, I know she loves 7f.

Ugh, fully agreed. I was so disappointed to learn she's running in the Distaff. I'm finding it hard to fully trust the two big favorites in the Sprint, and she fits the Sprint bomber profile perfectly. Think I'm going to have to wait for the draw to find another option, as it looks like more than half of the pre-entrants want the lead in that race.

Anyone have any early thoughts on the Distaff? I think Midnight Bisou is vulnerable, but I don't see an obvious challenger to beat her. Perhaps Dunbar Road? She's pretty handy and versatile, and I think her Spinster was a lot better than it looked given how bad the rail was that weekend. And speaking of bad rails, how insane would Serengeti Empress be with a good draw? I know she doesn't look fast enough at this distance, but she might encounter her first favorable trip and pace scenario since May in here.

Glancing through the pre-entries again... is there a more competitive race all weekend than the Juvenile Fillies Turf? It looks fantastic.

Depending on the pace setup I think that Street Band has the potential to play spoiler to Midnight Bisou.

There are places where you can bet at the half-mile pole.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

More like computer wail, ‘cause when my horse goes in the gate at 4-1 and drops to 9-5 at the half-mile pole, you should hear me start to wail.

Dale's horse is going to be tough on Friday. And next May if he gets there.

This morning's work was freakishly easy in 46 and change.

yeah Horsebagger.... I agree - saw that work this morning on TVG also - Dennis' Moment looked so great - and you are right, he did it so easy!

I know Dale touts his horses incessantly, but he's been saying this one's different. And I believe him.

Fired up after a little R&R it seems?

I am conveying scuttlebutt. Hardly endorsing the horse, having not seen his sheet yet, but he will be a price. Regardless, I may be tapped out well before that race goes to post.

Side note....it's a shame what that owner/'trainer' is doing recently to that poor horse, Bon Raison. Has him in again on Friday.
I could not agree more on the last part. It's upsetting to see.

Engage is the same mediocrity for Mr. Personality as he was for Chad. He just found the right spot/situation last time, especially given Promises Fulfilled doesn't seem competitive anymore. That looked like a turf race with about seven of them across the track at the wire. You don't see that too often on the dirt, and it's usually an indicator of a bad race.

The Sprint is the race of the weekend. Best one I can remember in a while.

As we were saying:-)

Yeah, my P5 got torched, but congrats to this dope getting his first win as a trainer.

Unfortunately, the final story about this horse hasn't been written yet, and it will not be a happy ending, imo. This probably doesn't help his cause given his owner/trainer might now convince himself he knows what he's doing.
