Hollendorfer banned from Breeders Cup this year. Good riddance.
Okay, I read the article and still don't know what he did wrong.
Do you?

He has a long history of disproportionately high numbers of breakdowns over the years. There has been alot written about this. I am not confidant in his expertise as a horseman. As I recall, he said Songbird was fine when she in fact had a serious injury. That is just one example. There were many others listed in the various articles that came out when he was banned at SA. I am not saying he is the only one but seems to be the most egregious lately. At the time, others on this board agreed with my sentiments. I am happy to agree to disagree if you feel differently, as some do.

You forgot to add that he's in the Hall Of Fame and welcome at every other racing jurisdiction in America, if not the world.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

In addition to changing the trainers name to Dan Ward. JH needs to take his name off as being part owner.

This does not change my sentiments. I disagree with Hall of Fame and stand by my opinion, as you are welcome to yours.

I guess I should be happy that Belmont, Saratoga, Aqueduct, Churchill, Keeneland, Arlington, Del Mar to name but a few welcome JH without judgement and with open arms.
The real problem is if other trainers follow him out of state to get away from Belinda Peta Stronach.

How would the Breeders Cup (Belinda) react to Vasilika's owner switching to like idk Doug O'Niel or somebody for the BC?

Doug O'Neil would be fine as the trainer (but more likely would be JH assistant Dan Ward).
The problem is the ownership, in CA. a trainer that is an owner cannot use a different trainer, hence JH needs to get his name off the papers by preliminary entry day, Monday.

The Dirt Mile may have just gotten a bit easier for Omaha Beach, as apparently Catalina Cruiser is going to the Sprint instead.

Kind of looking forward to maybe watching Imperial Hint completely disappear behind the imposing 'Cruiser...and then pushing his cute little nose in front at the wire. :D

While I don't know much about the Hollendorfer's drama and maybe he deserves the ban, my problem is I know he isn't the only trainer who deserves a ban. SA had no problems sweeping Baffert's 4 dead horses and drug positive (not that he deserves a ban.. just using him as an example). If you want to "crackdown" on trainers, you need to do more than use one as a scapegoat.

Has it been confirmed Omaha Beach is retiring at the end of the year? I keep reading things that sound like he may race again, but I have been so busy with work and school I haven't had time to look it up.

All parties seem to agree on the Pegasus being a goal.
Mandella is publicly campaigning for another full year to the power$ that be.

Ok cool! I hope he races past the Pegasus. He is a cool horse.

I think reading Mandella's comments and then reading how he had a stud deal confused me.

Who’s the owner.......did Dorf’s partners buy him out or do a lease on his share?

Curtis,
For longer than you've been alive assistant trainers have been named in the programs while the real trainers serve suspensions. In the end everybody's satisfied with their debits, credits and bank balances.

The system works the same way for owners.😇

Mrs. is now is a co-owner, vs. Mr.:

I have no doubts the wheels have been in motion. I just wondered how it has been resolved—at least publicly. I remember years ago when Gary Jones went on a “sabbatical” and Don Luby, his assistant, won the Hollywood Gold Cup with Eleven Stitches. Of course Jones didn’t own a piece which is the complication here.

That’s interesting. My wife already owns what’s mine and vice versa. Maybe that’s why horses run in Jill Baffert’s name—you know just in case.😉
