I thought the True North might be too short for Catalina Cruiser but he was good enough to get the job done. I'm interested to see what he can do in the handicap division now that he is out of Accelerate's shadow.

And nobody's perfect, but geez, that was an awful ride by Smith on McKinzie.

I became a big fan of Katsumi Yoshizawa! :o :D

Master Fencer to Target Turf Trinity in New York

The 3-year-old son of Just a Way was slated to leave New York June 13 and return to his native Japan to prepare for a fall campaign until Yoshizawa called an audible and decided instead to train Master Fencer toward the Turf Trinity.

Sir Winston, the Belmont Stakes winner, will join Country House, the Kentucky Derby winner, on the sidelines at least through the major races in the 3-year-old division this summer.

Trainer Mark Casse said Sir Winston is dealing with an injury to his left front ankle and will be out of training for a little while. Shortly after the Belmont Stakes, Casse brought Sir Winston to his farm in Ocala, Fla., where he is simply walking.

This crop of three year olds is just unlucky it seems.

Hopefully, they both come back healthy as 4 yr old. I also read War of Will is a possible for running at 4.

The Derby has often taken a toll on the colts who run in it, but this year's seems to have been especially punishing on the participants.
I wouldn't be surprised to read that Maximum Security is going to also be given time off. Of all the horses in the Derby, he may have paid the heaviest price; I believe the technical term is 'ran his eyeballs out.'

Omaha Beach has the door wide open, if he comes back in the same form as he left off in he might very well take the 3yo Eclipse!
