When I hotwalked for a Summer, it was hourly. That was at Woodbine for a trainer who only had 8-10 horses though.Three Ring wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 7:55 pmAre backstretch workers paid hourly or just a flat rate as contract employees?
Chad Brown has been ordered to pay more than $1 million ....

The Chad Brown-trained Almanaar wins the $200k Monmouth Stakes. If my math is correct, that works out to each of his employees getting $0

In the Chad Brown barn, whoever is responsible for payroll is a cheat. Chad's barn is one of the elite who could easily afford to pay any overhead costs.Somnambulist wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 10:10 pmEven after reading it I sincerely doubt Chad himself is doing payroll. Does the president of your company do it? Someone he hired likely did it for him. Nowhere did I say it was an ooops. Someone was clearly negligent.
How backstretch workers are treated in my opinion is looooow.
Had to offset the workers comp premium somehow!
I think it's pretty interesting that there are many who initially thought it couldn't be, not Chad Brown, must be some dumb employee working for him, there's no way he'd intentionally screw staff, take advantage of 'em etc.
I can only assume the same leniency will apply when/if the Baffert barn gets caught by the federales.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

This is one of my recent favorites, in response to what the jock said about the PETAs in the audience at the last CHTB meeting. He truly is a funny guy.Somnambulist wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 8:26 pmThat's the truth. Settle down, everyone: When Noberto Arroyo said “single women,” he meant women who prefer to only go one horse deep in their vertical plays
