Alright, what's going to happen during the Belmont? I vote the starting gate tractor dies and they have to forfeit the race.
2 gates malfunction and the race is deemed void.
Let's go big- all gates malfunction and they awkwardly back the horses out and go home. I can dig it.

Signalman is the stringhalt horse, right? I only caught War of Will when he was looking okay, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he had a hind leg issue. Hope he's okay. EDIT: Nope, they both have had it. Never mind!
Yes, Signalman has stringhalt, not WOW. I just saw a replay, looks like WOW may have switched leads right at the wire.

Not my year when there was a pass interference that wasn't called in an NFC championship game, a horse I picked to win the Kentucky Derby gets disqualified for the first time in its 145-year history, and the horse I didn't want to see win because he was the horse who got impeded by running close to where Max was actually wins the Preakness.

And oh yeah, Avengers: Endgame was good but wasn't great and Game of Thrones sucks now. Man, that last episode! I'm not even looking forward to Star Wars 9. Not my year. I think 2018 was way better. I still have my Milwaukee Bucks bet (18-1 x $25) to win it all since January, so maybe that can make up for everything this year.

So far, the only thing I've enjoyed this year was watching my LA Clippers overachieve and the Lakers become a laughingstock.
Rock Hard Ten. Free House. Soul Of The Matter. Lit de Justice. Zenyatta. Justify. Cigar. Ghostzapper. Lava Man. Silver Charm.

It appears the real winner of the race was Bodexpress! Twitter is hilarious right now, and it's nice to see some mainstream positivity. And I have to give him credit- he switched leads beautifully the whole way around!

I do hope they run him in a maiden one of these days...

No no. That would be the horse who beat NATIVE DIVER in one of his Hollywood GCs.

this says WOW does too.

TIL... more questions tho; is this hereditary? can this cause additional uncoundness issues, like a horse w this being more likely to come back w soft tissue injuries or anything?

As I mentioned earlier, even without the weight of the jockey he finished last. Oftentimes riderless horses who don't immediately say "screw this" and head back to the barn will run ahead of the field (I've seen this happen in many a steeplechase), but poor Bodexpress couldn't keep up lol. At least he seemed to enjoy himself out there.

I remember watching a replay of a riderless horse "winning" a race a while back. It was a filly or mare named something like "Hot City Woman" or "Hot Crazy Chick."

oh my gosh thank you for posting that glorious win by dear Gander!! what a smart horse - he rode a perfect race - didn't bother anyone, stalked the leader - and knew when to make his move for the lead - one of my most favorite races ever! I remember watching it live and could not stop smiling after.... he was so awesome!

it was fun to watch it again. thank you!!

I have been so high on this horse all year.

Its not often you bet your last dollars on something and win!
