or not.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Definitely no Triple Crown this year but wow the Preakness is gonna be very interesting! And when Omaha Beach comes back in the summer, things will shake up again.

No Triple Crown this year. Maybe another year when three different horses win each race.

More than likely not, unless Maximum wins the Preakness and Belmont, then sorta... ;)

However, the only other time a horse was DQ'd for any reason in the Derby, the horse that was awarded the win won the Preakness...

When I saw that Harley picked Tacitus in the post parade I really thought he had a shot.

So, hypothetically what would happen if Country House somehow manages to win the Preakness in Belmont? Besides hell freezing over and pigs sprouting wings.

Glorious anarchy!

Now that we've had one satisfying TC winner and one controversial one, I'm all-in on Team Chaos. I want them to dead heat in the Preakness, then in the Belmont I want Country House to get DQ'd behind Maximum Security, who shares first in a dead heat with Master Fencer.

100%, looked like he was just hitting his stride in the last furlong, and being by Tapit doesn't hurt his chances in the Belmont.

I like Anothertwistafate in the Preakness. I'm going to watch the race at Pimlico this year and can't wait! I'm assuming it will downpour bc why not.

A lot of the TC races have been run under the rain those past years. A little sun definitely wouldn't hurt

I agree with Anothertwistafate for the preakness! I was a little bit sad he was not in the derby.

The scenario we didn't know we needed.

Wonder what Derby runners will show up for the Preakness.

I imagine Country House and Maximum. What about Code of Honor?

I think Master Fencer, if he stays stateside, will wait for the Belmont.

Casse has already said that War of Will would run in the Preakness, but I suppose we'll see how he came out of this race. He has the right to be pretty bodysore after that.

Good. We don't need more just to get on a van to Kentucky and do nothing again.

The 15 year old in me cringes at that. I look forward to smaller crowds, less drunk assholes, and a shorter commute home. I bought my Belmont tickets this morning and there really weren't many left at all so maybe the enjoyment of a smaller crowd is moot.

I'll be very surprised if the Preakness starting gate isn't full.

Sounds like Alwaysmining is training perfectly for the Preakness.

“Right now, I don’t think we would consider running him in the Preakness,” Gary West, who owns Maximum Security with his wife, Mary, said Sunday. “He ran really, really hard yesterday, and not having a Triple Crown in play. it probably doesn’t make any sense to push the horse when you don’t have to do it.”

I mean he ran Classic Empire even though CE came out of the race with one eye swollen shut, had multiple cuts and was still rinsing dirt out of both eyes two days later, so it would take a lot I think.
They did announce today that War of Will has not a scratch on him and is doing well.
