Agreed. Watching the replay, War of Will looked like he was about to run right over top of Maximum Security's butt. It is very lucky that he didn't clip heels with him. Had he fallen right there, yikes.
And that was the point... yes, they were obviously close when he came out but they didn't clip heels.
Wrong again. You don't need a disaster to merit a DQ

Absolute bullshit.
Agree... and with no money talking, no money lost. That horse never should have come down.
I've seen way worse in other races with no DQ.

This becomes confusing when we watch worse happen daily with nothing done. There is no uniform goal.

Personally, I think CDI was making a point on this given the problems facing the sport.
I agree, but the general public is going to hate this - there was no way Country House was passing him, even his jockey knew it.

I didn't have any money riding on this outcome, but damn... that just feels so unfair. If War of Will would have finished 2nd or 3rd then yes a DQ would have been in order. But that's just... well... BS.

What if Maximum Security ends up pulling off the Preakness and Belmont. We’ll be so confused.

That's possible, but there was a near catastrophic moment right in front of millions of people unaware of it. Learning moment for non-fans.

As I watch it again, it was 100% justified.

How is MS not a DNF then? He hurt all the finishers behind him.

Move him to a DNF and move everyone else up. WoW was clearly the most hindered.

Feel awful for Luis Saez and Jason Servis. Best day of their racing careers just turned into their worst.

I really don’t know how I would have called it though, I think I would lean more to no DQ but it’s a very fair point that had this been a maiden claimer, Maximum Security would come down no question.

Very angry and confused here  :| Maximum Security was clearly the best horse here and would have won anyway!

One of the worst decision by the stewards in all history of horse racing lol?

Country House's connections SAID ON LIVE TELEVISION that they weren't that impeded. And now somehow that makes them the winner?

I feel like I'm going to throw up. The best horse won here. I don't feel like history will look kindly on this event.

Racing needs a centralized governing body.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

The stewards are not acting on behalf of the general public. They have a job. They did it, and i'm sure none of them are happy about it.

I was at his Florida Derby but didn't bet him because of his odds, wasn't even rooting for him actually - but I can't believe how many horses I've seen who should've come down in big races and didn't - it just feels like the horse got robbed.

I don't have a problem with the DQ it's more an inconsistency of the DQ in this sport in general.

MS effects them all - CH, Code of Honor and WoW. I have seen stewards take a winner down entirely and move everyone up in this scenario. WTF.

They do deserve credit for that and I'm not being sarcastic. That was a tough call. And it was a foul.

I would love to see a video of that conference...

I think the MaxS was the best horse AND that it isn't illogical that his number came down, but...

I'm old enough to remember Forward Pass. An entirely different set of circumstances, a plausible result, but FP's win always had an big blinking red asterisk next to his name.

How many people mad that Maximum Security was DQed are also mad that Bayern was not DQed? Question of the day for me

Was he DQ'd completely? Just DQ'd to second?

So no show payout?
