Breeder's Cup released a statement that really doesn't say much at all.

The word "propose" is doing a lot of work in that statement...

Let's just keep it at Churchill this year, shall we?

I'm taking a wild ass guess and saying that the CHRB could out manuver TSG by awarding the dates to LosAl for 2019 and stripping SA based on some failure to perform fine print in the contract.
In which case TSG will happily sell the track to a real estate developer and wash their hands of the whole mess.
Let's see who blinks first, I'd say it's the ultimate bluff card that TSG is holding onto.
And one more thing.... I'm not sure the land development idea is laced with gold. The Arcadia and surrounding communities have a reputation of being the toughest folks to get permits from. Let's just compare with Hollywood Park for s second, if the NFL wanted to move the Chargers there or MLB move the Angels there they'd have zero chance based on history. Not sure even condos would work, TSG might be sitting on a real nice park for picnics and bird watching, not much $$$ in that.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

amongst all the TSG noise this evening let’s not lose siight that @BloodHorse is still stifling @BH_JBalan from his twitter account ~ yes he’s written a few stories for “window dressing” we need to stand united on this #FREEBALAN
Well, he's been freed...

That is very unfortunate :( I really enjoy Balan's twitter posts. I hope somebody else picks him up as he was excellent at his job. It blows my mind that covering an incident that actually happened would lead to this.

Regarding the potential change of venue for the BC- haven't the tickets already gone on sale? Maybe thst wouldn't be such a big deal. :?:

Yeah, I don't get the "you don't normally report on this logic" at all. The mainstream media was already there. I'd (fan) rather hear about it from JB than WEZE on the 6:00 news. And furthermore, if WEZE reports it and horse racing doesn't, that doesn't look so good either. . . Of course, don't know how the back and forth went from parties involved. . .

Unfortunate doesn't begin to describe it. Alas, by now most of us could probably see this coming. Best of luck, Jeremy. We'll miss you.

How is he fired for this and Haskins remains employed for enabling that wacko rescue girl?

I'd really like the other side to this, because the way it looks to be right now is that it looks weird AF.

As an idle thought: Isn't Bloodhorse published by the Jockey Club? If someone with status - like possibly Ritvo - had called the JC to complain and that s/he wanted Balan off his tracks, then Balan could be locked out from all tracks.

Is it true....

A change such as no lasix must get the approval from the horsemen's group, and they're not rapidly falling in line with knee jerking Belinda?

Didn't Haskin retire a few years ago and just does freelance work for them? I'm not 100%, although I feel like I read that at some point.

Let's add on another layer....

Joe Harper says Del Mar will run with lasix in 2019

Yes, he gets paid by the piece (maybe "series" relative to the derby20 thing). He's very click dependent, I suspect, and seems wildly popular. A different niche from JB in some ways (although they're probably all click fed). I wondered about that slaughter/cruelty/hoarding/buzzard debacle also, vis a vis this situation. He was also on a Thursday talk show she hosted, I'm sure that was good for BH traffic, too. He closed his twitter account when he exited the relationship. JB can do better, I hope there's room enough in the industry for him to find that place.

Favorite thing Haskin has done is double down on his defense/support of Alborano after the scandal broke, and then deleting it.

Also the deletion of any comment relating to Baffert's suspicious death toll.
