It's such a wide open year... I don't really have a pick. Maybe Roaring Lion for the Gosden Factor? Mendy or Thunder Snow for the world-superpower-winning-with-their-longtime-euro-based-trainer factor?

I love Yoshida, but not huge on WinStar/China Horse Club. Discreet Lover has a great story, Mind Your Biscuits is so versatile...

I guess I am just rooting for a non-California based horse.

Honestly I don't have a lot of strong feelings towards the Classic. Pretty much any horse could win and I would be alright with it. I don't see it happening but would be nice if Yoshida somehow won this.

When I first saw how far out Enable was carried, my first instinct was Ballydoyle team tactics. Then I saw/heard some comments (by post race commentators, on here, on facebook, etc.) on how some think it was Frankie searching for better ground.

I still kind of think it was the former.
Frankie said it straight up in the post race interview that he took her wide for the ground and was looking for the fresh track specifically because she was spinning her wheels in the turn and he took her wider and wider until she was able to take off once they found the ideal part of the track. Those were all his words not mine!
I missed that, thanks for clarifying!

The sky is beautiful at Churchill. Looks like an Alabama sky.

Honestly, as long as a non Winster/China horse racing horse wins I'm pretty good.

Anyone but a Baffert?

Seriously I really want Accelerate to win this. I'd like to see the talks about HOY if he did.

Well the only thing I was right about was being against the Baffert horses... I’m very happy for Sadler!

Wow. So happy for John Sadler! And Yoshida up for third, proud of him too. 8-)

(ETA: or maybe fourth, still a good run from him I think!)

Roaring Lion had no chance after the break. He hated every second.

I think Accelerate should be HOY.

Basically this was me the whole time. I hate to root against a horse because of connections but I just can't...want them to win. I know that's petty but I can't help it. I've had a bad taste for China Club after their treatment of Simon Callaghan for something that wasn't his fault, as I said before.
