Whitmore is super cool.

Will have to rewatch, but it looked like City of Light got a brutal ride. He was just insanely wide the whole way around.

How is the track playing? I'm not near a TV. I know two have won big races on the inside (Abel, Whitmore) but Marley's Freedom came on the outside I think.

Whitmore should send a thank you note to Heartwood, who bore out all through the turn. He carried out the horses outside of him, including City of Light, while leaving the rail wide open for Whitmore. :P
Probably didn't help City of Light's chances that he didn't change leads until nearing the wire.

What a great ride by Julien on Glorious Empire. He had the horse, but he gave that horse the best chance imaginable.

Was hoping that watching the undercard would help me figure out the Travers, but I still have no idea. Good Magic would be the least surprising winner, but is he that much better than everyone else? Gronkowski ran a fantastic race in the Belmont and wins with a return to that, but will he return to that at 7/2?

Think I'll use those two, give Vino Rosso one more chance, and maybe throw Trigger Warning in there. I've seen far worse 60-1 shots.

Abel Tasman may have done well along the rail, but Marley's Freedom had to come four wide to take the G1 Ballerina.
Maybe Mike Smith's winning touch with distaffers matters more than which part of the track the horse is on? :P
Probably the winning touch of his left handed whip in the Personal Ensign lol. Go Mendelssohn!!

Good Magic looked tiny and kinda thin, Gronk and Tenfold looked good coming out. Wonder Gadot looked really good as well.

Gronk looked spectacular on Belmont day and doesn't look any worse here from what I can tell. He's massive, gorgeous, and well balanced despite his size. Would love to see him run to his looks here.

Good Magic has never been an impressive specimen, although there's no denying that he can run. Gronk is the winner in the looks department today, IMHO. Mendy also looks good, maybe the best I've seen him since Dubai.

All credit to Catholic Boy as a multi-surface wonder, but that was an ugly race aside from the winner.

Kudos to Catholic Boy, and a good run by Mendelssohn. Apparently Aiden said that Mendy was NOT 100% for this race, due to losing training time because of the barn bug that hit Ballydoyle.
If that was Mendy at less than 100%, I can't wait to see him when he's in top form.

Looked like a match race. I was very impressed by the first two though, especially Catholic Boy, he was really pulling away at the end!

I have narrowed my win candidate to either Catholic Boy, Bravazo, or Tenfold.

GL everyone. Not betting the race, but should be a good one.

Got the winner Catholic Boy at 7-1 (and bravazo ran 3rd. )

was very very very happy about Mendy. He needed this race. Travers winner rarely wins BCC so hopinig for mendy to go there.

It sure looked like every horse who got a taste of the kickback quit early into the race. Good Magic, who was basically eased, was also taken very wide into the first turn by Tenfold, who ran pretty erratically in spots during the race. Mendelssohn ran fine I guess but he didn't put up much resistance after getting a surprisingly easy time of it on the front end.

Catholic Boy is fantastic though. I wonder where we'll see him run next?

Catholic Boy ran beautifully, I do wonder how Mendelssohn would do with an American jockey when he’s here.

so very happy for Catholic Boy - he didn't have to battle anyone today - but you know he will duke it out if he needs to... just no quit in this horse - makes him a formidable opponent in the Classic coming up.

and also very happy for Mendy - heard that AOB didn't expect him to win today - that the Classic is still his goal for Mendy - so it was a good race for him on the way to the BC - and another fine effort for Bravazo - he was coming late - would really like to see this handsome boy get a win sometime soon.

felt bad for the filly. really wanted to see her win today. hope she is ok. maybe all that running finally caught up with her, but really hope she comes out of the race ok.

Very happy with Mendelssohn, that was a good step forward! He was tired in the end there, but if he missed training like O Brien said, that's a given.

Catholic Boy! Really good performance! Wondering where he'll go next and if he'll move forward from that race.

IMO, all of A.P. Indy's best sons have become very good broodmare sires, as well.
