Should probably go ahead and get this started.

~ Wouldn't think too much of this. We all know about the Pletcher/Velasquez loyalty thing.

Man, what a huge disappointment. Hofburg was a perfect Travers horse and Mott had been excited about the race all year.

At least the field is still going to be interesting. A lot of enigmas in there.

A little Travers update: Ryan Moore will ride Mendelssohn. Seahenge could alter course and run in the G1 Sword Dancer instead of Travers. Decision to be made on Tuesday.

Even with Hofburg out, this looks like a fun race.

Interesting they were looking at other riders and he wasn't on the initial list...

A shame Hofburg won’t be running.
I’ll be rooting for Good Magic.

I walked away from watching Good Magic work on Friday thinking that's the Travers winner. I was leaning Hofburg before seeing that. Now it's a no brainer for me.

Deflated. Absence of Hofburg removes at least half the interest I had. I bet on him on premises when he broke his maiden on Fountain of Youth day.

Since that point the Travers always looked like the best chance for a major breakthrough

Not that anyone was talking about Mr Freeze, but he will bypass the Travers and go to the PA Derby.

Mendelssohn 12-1? Doubt he will stay that high but my betting site has fixed odds so don't mind if I do at that price...
Now that the field is set how do you think the pace might unfold?

I am kind of surprised to see Trigger Warning entered. I thought for sure he'd go to the King's Bishop off his last race. At least he'll add some pace to the mix from the rail...

Also just noticed Seahenge isn't there I guess they are rerouting him to the Sword Dancer
