Didn't see another post on this.

1st saw it the other day on an OTTB racing page I follow, posted by the woman who bought him.
Souper Spectacular, the $1.15 million dollar, Giant's Causeway, half brother to Zenyatta was bought at auction......for $390. Lady had no idea who the horse was, nor even who his half sibling is....

You've got to wonder how they end up in these places......

Sparrow Castle posted about this disturbing bit of news over in the Whatever Happened To? section, under Random Retiree News:

Souper Spectacular must have been in terrible condition when he was rescued. The photo of him after he was rescued, grazing happily, still shows a very thin horse with all his ribs showing.
I hope that the full story comes out...and that his former owners find a new way to rehome their horses. :(

This is so sad. Was he sold to the zoo for meat? God bless those who work with OTTB to prevent this from happening when they can.

I wondered about him a while ago. He just was gone from sight. Poor guy.

Story about it. I wish all horses got the same type of anger towards this happening to them and not just ones that have a famous sibling. I don't believe Live Oak would sell a horse to a zoo for meat. Plus its more of a preserve... It looks like him in this photo:
