Battle of Midway needed a couple of fuel tankers. He ran out of gas in the stretch.

They kind of just threw him right into the big races, might have been nice for him to start in an allowance or ungraded stakes.

That's not in style any more. Owners want larger dollar signs. Making sense does not apply. Gotta make them cents!

I think Hollendorfer was going to out him in the hungraded Harry Brubaker at Del Mar but I guess other people wanted a graded stakes.

Stallwalkin’ Dude is entered in an allowance race at Zia Park (NM). The 8 yr old gelding mostly ran in stakes or black type on the east coast Guess he stayed out west after the latest run in the Bing Crosby

I wonder if 'Dude has changed hands? Or could he be there to get a confidence-booster in an easier spot?

He's 8, he's going to have to start dropping at some point. He won the Highweight last November at Aq, but I don't think he's done so well since then (including a trip to Dubai). Let's hope Jacobsen is as good to Dude as Dude has been to him.

One of my main points of contention about the Breeder’s Cup........ I was at Del Mar when Tale of the Union broke his maiden. Looks like a real runner. Wasn’t he supposed to go in the Norf..., I mean Front Run...., I mean American Pharoah?
