Its so incredibly tragic and then to see the morons trying to point fingers at the people who risked their lives trying to save the horses is just to much for me.

I just saw that and don't know what to make of this. Could it mean the Rockingham Ranch horses are accounted for? I've seen no Tweets from Brian Trump that their horses have been located, and he's been tweeting about Stormy Liberal from Hong Kong. Oh, this might not be a good thing, hard but trying to stay hopeful.

So, Brian Trump has been in Hong Kong this whole time? Wow, that guy has been all over social media. I assumed he was here and Peter Miller was over there. How horrible to have all this happening and not be actually here to help. But still be doing a ton of the work. I kinda want to hire this guy <g>
Might not be a bad thing that all the found horses aren't listed considering how crazy things are. I'd assume that most of them are ok and safe somewhere. Hopefully. Hopefully.

Aron Wellman's blog post "Gaining perspective at a time of tragedy" is his story about being at Del Mar as the vans at first didn't arrive, then did. Incredibly moving. I hope owners go all lengths to assist the brave staff who held the line to protect their horses. Mr. Wellman says it best.https://eclipsetbpartners.com/news/gain ... e-tragedy/

As I escorted the filly into stall 5 in barn RR, I could not resist the temptation to read the nameplate on the halter: First Dude on top, Jacqueline Gail on the bottom. It was, in fact, Onassis.

I was overcome with emotion and wrapped my arms around her sweaty, hot, veiny and pulsating neck and draped my body onto her shoulder. In an almost surreal turn of events, Onassis was there for ME. SHE was reassuring ME. She was comforting ME. A 2 year-old filly who had been through hell and back and seen and lived pure horror, was consoling ME.

This update on Richard's Boy, Typhoon and Tsunami is from this article: https://www.paulickreport.com/news/the- ... olunteers/

Social media has also been key in helping owners and trainers to identify missing horses. Matt Nakatani found Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint runner-up Richard's Boy at Moody Ranch, and notified racing manager Brian Trump via Twitter. Conquest Typhoon is still counted among the missing, while reports indicate that Conquest Tsunami has been found safe.

Horrible and heartbreaking. Thanks for confirming...news reports can often be incorrect in fast breaking stories.

I was just coming over here to post this outstanding news. Thanks for posting it. Aside for donating, and praying if one is so inclined, all those of us who don't live near Del Mar can do is try to help in the lost and found effort.

Conquest Tsunami was misreported as deceased.

Peter Miller reports both Conquest Typhoon and Conquest Tsunami have been found and they are OK. Previous report was based on a tattoo called in for Tsunami as a deceased horse, which apparently was incorrect or misread. I apologize for the error.

There are lots of good news about found horses, but the current number of dead horses is 46, so there's lots of sad news out there.

Yes, it's so heartbreaking, but we have to take comfort where we can. So I continue to be grateful for all the news posted here.

For me, the only way to deal with this horror is to think about all the horses that were saved and how much worse it could have been, so I can stop crying.
That said, for those who witnessed the horror, I believe they will have nightmares and will probably need some counseling; I can't even
fathom the horror of what they witnessed. It Is truly beyond comprehension that this could have happened, and in such a short period of time.
Thank goodness for all those wonderful people who have volunteered and are helping the horses and humans, you are so kind and so generous-- I so admire
what you are doing.

Equine Death Toll From San Luis Rey Fire at 46
he equine death toll from the devastating brushfire that ripped through San Luis Rey Downs Training Center Dec. 7 is at 46 as of the morning of Dec. 9, according to officials at the California Horse Racing Board.

CHRB spokesman Mike Marten said Saturday morning that state officials "are confident" in the figure, but made sure to note that a small number of horses broke through a "knockdown fence" at the facility during the fire and are still unaccounted for.

Those horses are believed to be still loose in the hills surrounding San Luis Rey in Bonsall, Calif., but Marten could not confirm the number of horses that are unaccounted for.
