I just watched the HD broadcast version of the races... did nobody notice those cables would cut right across every stretch run?

Amazing how much more enjoyable Churchill's BC is compared to the west coast versions and it was only the first day. Nice.

Freddy Head is upset with the state vets decision to scratch Polydream.
He had her out trotting this morning to make a point. Vet refused to watch.

Wait, hold on. The turf yesterday was designated as "good" to anybody who watched the broadcast, but it's listed as "yielding" in the charts. Does this strike anyone else as completely unacceptable? I still haven't forgotten how they gave the 2017 Derby an absolutely absurd "wet fast" designation.

Anyways, glad to see my boy Audible enjoyed his unsolicited vacation. That was a nice win.

Audible just won the 2nd race on the BC card- coming from the outside and closing well after a long layoff.
It was said that Pletcher is pointing him to the Pegasus.

my gosh I thought Audible looked stunning before his race this morning - nice win in his comeback - such a shame he 'missed' the Belmont - will be fun to watch him run next year - not a fan of his owners, but for the horse's sake... I hope he does really well.

Newspaperofrecord (Juvenile Fillies Turf): 96

Jaywalk (Juvenile Fillies): 94

Game Winner (Juvenile): 93

Bulletin (Juvenile Turf Sprint): 90

Line of Duty (Juvenile Turf): 83
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Wonder whatever happened to Westbrook. He didn't have a very successful career and last raced February of 2017. Somebody owns a very special gelding that can say he beat two BC Classic winners! Hopefully somebody's show horse somewhere.

You would think the vets would read up on the horse and look at footage of her walking in general once he told them why she walked funny.

He is. The Pegasus is before the breeding season starts, so he will stay in training and run in the race beforehand.

You guys see this?

Man arrested after drunkenly stealing and riding a horse at the Breeders' Cup
There was some craziness at the Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs on Saturday. A drunk man attempted to steal a horse and ride it around the track — and he almost made it.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, 24-year-old Michael Wells-Rody was pretty thoroughly soused when he snuck into a restricted area at the famous racetrack. Despite being drunk enough to think this was a good idea, he managed to make his way onto an actual horse before anyone noticed he shouldn’t be there.
In fact, Wells-Rody actually got to take the horse for a brief ride. He rode it out of the tunnel and to the entrance of the actual racetrack, but that’s when his luck ran out.

It had to be one of the stable or track ponies, with a Western saddle that would allow a drunk to stay on without falling right off. Testament to how bomb-proof those ponies are if one of them actually put up with someone that inebriated.

The unnamed horse was not arrested.
