Wow, those are exciting race plans for him!

How amazing is Mozu Ascot’s February Stakes win? He is only the 7th Japan based horse to win a G1 on dirt and turf(includes Victoire Pisa’s All-weather DWC win.) Only the 5th horse to win them both in the JRA and 2nd Yasuda Kinen winner to do the rare double!

That's pretty neat about Mozu Ascot.

Also excited to learn Curren Bouquetd'or will be joining Almond Eye in Dubai. I hope she gets her breakthrough win this year at age four.

JRA officially announced the racecourses operated by JRA will not accept all the racegoers for safety from Feb. 29th. The races will take place as planned, but they will do without spectator.

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, JRA will refuse customers to enter the racecourse for the time being for central horse racing starting on February 29 (Saturday).
They have a month until the next G1, and the big races start to ramp up in April... hopefully things are better by then! *fingers x*

Update: The JRA is expecting loss of nearly ¥15,000,000,000 revenue this weekend (over $137 million USD) compared to last year, given the closed-to-the-public racing format - the first time since 1944.

It's the on and off track cash sales that the JRA will miss out on during the close-down. Approximately 30% of turnover. They will still turnover about $516mil this weekend.... #handy #JRA

Makes sense since they also closed all the schools in the country for a month.

Very nice for I'll Have Another and it's good to see an older horse winning :D
I'm glad he was born in Japan, I think he would have never been given the chance here.

Any news on Dieu du Vin? Was hoping to see him in the Hyacinth, then he didn't run. Wondering if there's a new plan for him.

It sounds like he has a minor back problem.
His next start is unknown.

Japan's 2018 Dirt Champion Le Vent Se Lave(JPN) (Symboli Kris S) is still aiming to make his comeback from a tendon injury.
Today his connections mentioned the Kashiwa Kinen (Jpn1, May 5th) as his target.

Thanks for that news, tachyon. I'm hoping he makes it back and could still factor into the Derby picture with the delay.

US-bred Herrschaft (Will Take Charge) won the Fukuryu Stakes at Nakayama, the last scheduled race on the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby.

In second was T O Keynes (Sinister Minister) and in third was Miyaji Kokuo (Victoire Pisa).
