Not surprised that CMM has swerved the Belmont to run in the Woody Stephens. When I think of Uncle Mo, I don't really think '12-furlong runner.' :P
More likely to handle the distance is Epicharis, who has arrived safely at Belmont.

David Grening‏ @DRFGrening

True Timber (temperature) will not run in Belmont Stakes. Calumet will still be represented by Patch.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

A huge disappointment for ME.

Ah well, will put Epicharis on ticket instead. Distance pedigree is stellar, he travels well, and is not one to shrink from winning

But, I loved TT, reminds me of Jackson Bend, a real gutsy horse----

Right now liking Patch, Epicharis, Gormley and need to find a 4th.....maybe Senior Investment or Tapwrit? Who knows. Posts aren't real important in a race this long, they alll have plenty of time to get into position

Conquest Mo Money won't be running in the Woody Stephens, either. :(

Conquest Mo Money injured, will miss Woody Stephens
Conquest Mo Money came out of a Friday morning workout at the Fair Hill Training Center with a soft tissue injury and will not compete in the Grade 2 Woody Stephens at Belmont Park next weekend, according to Tres Abbott, who was overseeing the horse's training for owner Tom McKenna and trainer Miguel Hernandez.
Conquest Mo Money worked three furlongs in 36.20 seconds over the Fair Hill dirt track, but was later diagnosed with the injury.

I have just come across this wonderful article, too.

And I always believe that Kate Hunter is the best spokesperson for the Japanese racing. 8-)

Looks like Irish War Cry will be running.
Trainer Graham Motion said, "I'm excited about it. And I've kind of looked for reasons not to do it. I think in the aftermath of the Kentucky Derby I was discouraged and I kind of just forgot about all this.
"But having seen him train, having seen the result of the Preakness, I think we need to take a shot. It's a classic and, if he's doing well, I think it's a shame if he's sitting in the barn."

Gormley, the Santa Anita Derby winner who was ninth in the Kentucky Derby, was officially put in the race Monday, according to Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs, the wife of trainer John Shirreffs and the racing manager for owners Jerry and Ann Moss.

"...sounds like Epicharis may return later in the year if he runs well Saturday."

The Japanese have been determined to compete successfully in the most prestigious international races, mostly turf standouts like the Arc and Melbourne Cup. But I wouldn't be surprised if Epicharis' connections would love to have a dirt horse who could be competitive in our BC Classic.
Stay tuned.

I believe that Japanese fans will be more interested in a US TC race than ever! :D

Racing programme that includes Belmont Stakes (see below) will be available at JRA tracks (Tokyo & Hanshin) on Saturday. 8-)
