Turf race picks:

F&M Turf: Dank looms here but I don't like the post and the local contingent is very strong. Tough to separate Tiz Flirtatious and Marketing Mix, but I like the former just a little bit more and her works have been excellent. Laughing seems to be constantly underappreciated- she has a good chance to get loose on the lead and who knows what will happen from there. I don't know if I like her to win, but I think she'll be right there at the end. Otherwise, I can't find much value in this race- a lot of solid horses at short prices.

1) Tiz Flirtatious 2) Laughing 3) Marketing Mix

Turf Sprint: Simply can't go against Mizdirection here. Undefeated on the course, coming off a shorter layoff than last year and working brilliantly. Behind her, I like Boat Trip- good recent effort here on the course and he figures to get all sorts of pace to run at. Chips All In is another with great form over the course. For a big price, I kind of like Havelock who ran a freaky race last out and may be revitalized after coming back to the US and getting Lasix again.

1) Mizdirection 2) Boat Trip 3) Havelock

Turf: This is a weird race- I can't find much value, but I also don't completely trust the favorites. The Fugue was probably the best horse in last year's F&M Turf and she seems to be in even better form this year, so I'll probably go with her even at a short price. Big Blue Kitten might be a bit overlooked after his last loss, but he's had an awfully nice year and I predict a solid effort from him today. Can't knock Indy Point and I'd love to see Point of Entry win, but the layoff makes me nervous. At a price I kind of like Twilight Eclipse, who has a solid record at the distance and seems to like a hard track.

1) The Fugue 2) Big Blue Kitten 3) Twilight Eclipse

Mile: I actually love Bright Thought here. Forget the layoff, this horse is insanely fast and loves this course. Between him, Silver Max, and Obviously, I trust him the most to hang around at the end. Wise Dan can't be left off a ticket though I wouldn't be shocked by a loss here. To fill out the tri I like one of the closing locals- either He Be Fire N Ice or No Jet Lag, will probably decide between them at the last minute.

1) Bright Thought 2) Wise Dan 3) No Jet Lag

Trevor Denman is a horrible announcer, he never even said anything happened.

OMG She's A Tiger! Was yelling at home. She came back! How game is she! Just refused to let others pass.

I didn't notice anything either, but I had my eyes glued on She's A Tiger, so I might have missed it.

Don't know. The announcers after the race said Secret Compass went down and John Velazquez was down too.

Definitely something broken, and she was running down the track afterwards. Johnny V got up on his own. Damn. Tough start.

Tremendously game effort by the winner. I don't know how to feel about Sweet Reason's run- did she hit a distance wall or is the rail still very tough to close on?

NBC coverage sucks. They keep switching to a football game.

Ugh, its bad news. Dislocated ankle and codylar fracture. Hopefully they can save her. But dislocated is always a bad thing.

Condylar fracture and dislocated ankle. Ouch. :( Doesn't sound too good.

And no way they should take She's A Tiger down. That wasn't a bad bump. *hmpfh*

I'm watching on calracing.com, don't have a TV. Are the NBC guys saying as little about the breakdown as the HRTV crew is? They're braying like donkeys, laughing their heads off about possible DQs and huge payoffs.
