With the exception of AP, the remaining 3 horses are tosses for some members.

Right now, I'm going with a $1 box on

American Pharoah
Carpe Diem
Dortmund
Firing Line

Unless one or more of them gets an impossible post, I don't think I'm going to change my mind.

Anyone care to speculate this early out? Just curious.

I'll definitely be playing a dime super but I'm leaning towards more of a pyramid with AP on top and hope for a price or two in the lower slots.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Not even at SA? Well that would be annoying.

The super needs a longshot closer:

Say hello to International Star. He somehow manages to get up there.

The other Baffert is u$ually the key!
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Problem is, the "other" Baffert is out of the race. ;)

When I think of a horse who's "the other" I think of one that's hanging in the shadows of the star stablemate. I wouldn't say Dortmund or AP are hanging in anyone's shadow yet and One Lucky Dane would have been.

No dime supers anywhere. Your tellers, along with everyone standing in line to make their wagers, are very thankful.

I'll be playing it, but most likely with than 4 picks. 2 of my picks will include Mubtaahij and International Star.

Well then I'll just sit on my hands. I cleared $1.60 out of the dime super at the SA Derby!

I thought this was a pretty good compendium of info for each of the Derby contenders.

I'm not picky. I'll settle for the Trifecta ;).

This is literally my favorite way to piss money away. I see it as the ultimate challenge. My two biggest scores have come from supers (probably more dumb luck than actual prowess) so I just feel inherently biased towards them. Came close in 2011 - nevermind almost doesn't count. My ex wanted to include him because of his name and we were at a Cinco de Mayo party, but I said no. How did I have the fourth place horse that year but not include IHA.

Oh, right. I let Dustin talk me out of him. :?

Even if it's a $1 super playing a few tickets shouldn't be that bad. I figure starting to play this bet yearly at 21 that I might hit before I die...
