... to go with the "just one horse" thread who is the "one horse" you believe has absolutely no chance at all in the Derby, regardless of post position, defections, etc.?

I'll have to tear up my tickets if the Dubai hoss hits the board.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Poor Ocho Ocho Ocho. He's probably my auto toss too.
I am on the fence about Mr. Z, El Kabeir, and Stanford as well.

Sólo un poco de humor extraño de un antiguo foro desaparecida, no vale la pena explicar si aquí nadie lo entiende.

Oh c'mon people...go out on a limb. 30/1 shots in a 20 horse field? For me, probably Materiality.

Okay, sucka, my short-priced auto-toss is most likely also Materiality. Dortmund would be a close 2nd.

Same. So many red flags and I'm just not feeling him whatsoever.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

As much as I love Pletcher I almost always auto toss his horses in the Derby (except Danza). So aside from that my pick is El Kabeir.
Once upon a time there was a horse named Kelso.

Hoist the Flag was the best horse I ever rode, by far... It wasn't Seattle Slew.

Dortmund. Pains me, but I think he will go too fast too early and not last that final furlong. Hope I'm wrong.

i think there is a difference between an auto toss and a horse you end up tossing. I think that's why some people are mentioning 30-1 shots. Based on what they already know they don't even need to look closer, those horses are out.

For the big favorites I think it's more a matter of considering them then choosing to toss them.

As I see it there are 8 main contenders for the race

American Pharoah
Dortmund
Carpe Diem
Materiality
Firing Line
Upstart
International Star
Frosted

Of this list the horse I am least likely to use in the win slot is Materliality then probably Frosted or even Dortmund.

This was my intent on starting this thread... it was to list the horse that is an automatic toss for the win... horses you don't even need to think about in order to toss them from wagers, regardless of track condition, defections, post positions, etc... I wasn't really looking for shorter priced horses that people decide not to use for whatever reason. Those are not "auto-tosses" because a person had to first consider them.

Anyway, this was supposed to counter dustin's "one horse for the win" thread with "one horse for the toss", but eh.

If Pletcher starts him, I'll most likely toss ITSAKNOCKOUT. pedigree isn't exactly a wow factor, and he got beaten over 20 lengths in the FL Derby.

Agreed, He's the first one I'd strike from my list. I don't think he has any shot at all.

I love how he gets credit for things he didn't even start. ;)

I'm not touching Materiality with your money, let alone mine.
