Massive class jump for Cool Samurai but maybe Shirreffs had nothing better to do today. As much as I think he doesn't stand a chance, I like to throw money away (apparently) so...

Many of these have run in several graded stakes in a row, but they don't win, other than Shared Belief. I don't really like any of them so I went for a strange pick for 2nd, my old friend Dynamic Sky. He prefers turf but he's not bad on dirt and he should keep running at the end, hoping he can plod past Moreno who has been backing up late in all 10f attempts. I wouldn't play him normally but think the 10f suits him and the others are weak and several won't want 10f.
He's also my 2nd place choice. Dynamic Sky has shown he can run on the dirt, and he loves to go long.Matt Converse wrote:Many of these have run in several graded stakes in a row, but they don't win, other than Shared Belief. Even though I am more attached with California Chrome because he trains in Los Al while Hollendorfer is a Bay Area trainer, I hope Shared Belief romps here. I like Hollendorfer anyway esp when he campaigned Blind Luck. Shared Belief has a winning consistency that isn't common even with past American gelding greats. Forego and John Henry were not consistent right away and neither were as precocious as SB. I loved Lava Man but SB is much better than him at the same stages of their careers.
SB should win lengths by 5-6+ lengths easing up. Still, 10F is still 50/50 with him even though his only defeat had a valid excuse. That extra furlong can make so much difference between horses like Holy Bull, Rachel Alexandra, and Quality Road who excelled at 9F or less vs multiple 10F winners like Cigar, Skip Away, and Curlin.

Rock Hard Ten. Free House. Soul Of The Matter. Lit de Justice. Zenyatta. Justify. Cigar. Ghostzapper. Lava Man. Silver Charm.
How is Moreno taking ANY money? A horse that came back from surgery with no prep at 10f. When the other option was the Razorback.

He moves like a jungle cat. Just whips past them and pounces away.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

Can we start calling him the best horse in the world? If this guy was running in Europe, he'd already be 'one of the greatest of all time,' so it seems only fair.

I think we know now! Minus Shared Belief and Moreno wins this against the odds.Somnambulist wrote:How is Moreno taking ANY money? A horse that came back from surgery with no prep at 10f. When the other option was the Razorback.
