Pathetic, but that's because SB seems unbeatable. Hope the undercard is better--the San Felipe could be strong.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

That is a pretty sad field. You'll probably have to tie Shared Belief to the gate in order for him to be defeated. That is if he runs like himself.

I agree that Shared Belief losing would be one of the more significant upsets in recent racing history. With that said, I guess I understand why the field came up as it did. Palace Malice, Tonalist, Danza, Liam's Map and Bayern have all apparently had setbacks or are just gearing up, while California Chrome is Dubai-bound and Wicked Strong, Honor Code etc. found a 'better' spot to come back than in a 10f race. The only two horses that I thought had an outside shot at giving it a go, but understandably aren't, are Lea and Constitution.

They're not going to beat Shared Belief, but Bronzo has run well twice in a row with lousy trips, and Cool Samurai is pretty good, though 1 1/4 might be a stretch.

Crimson Giant is 1 for 66 and hasn't won since 2011.

And people are up in arms about Take Charge Brandi running in the Rebel?

He's not trained by Lukas....But seriously, he is probably in the best form he'll ever be and it's not a huge stretch to see him get a decent piece of the purse. The effort won't, most likely, hinder him when he goes back to optional claimers. In Brandi's case she could also get a decent piece of the Rebel purse but how will it effect her going forward?

My favourite part about Crimson Giant is the trainer saying he is a superior slop horse. Compared to what? He won once, in the mud, but that doesn't make him superior.

I like Dynamic Sky for 2nd, he always runs a big one when he doesn't get into trouble.

I think many would agree he's a slop horse. Now as to the context....;)

It's official, Bob Baffert tells HRTV that Hoppertunity will not run in the Santa Anita Handicap and possibly will make his next start in the Dubai World Cup.

And right next to Shared Belief.
At least he's not to the inside of him. :P

I thought the same thing. Odds weren't in favor of them drawing next to one another and yet there they are.

With that said, I think it'd take an act of God to get Shared Belief beat here. Not that I think he's the 'unbeatable' type, but this is really just an allowance field with a potential HOY candidate in it.
