Tap That(USA) is likely to be aimed at Dubai for the UAE Derby, too, from Japan.
The son of Tapit finished second in the Jpn1 Zen-Nihon Nisai Yushun 1600m dirt in his last time out.

Don't get your hopes up for seeing any more De Kock horses in dirt races at Meydan:

Which Americans, the connections of Tonalist, Bayern, Shared Belief, California Chrome, etc. who have listed the World Cup as their first major 2015 target?

Rick will watch. This is the Classic in March, but for the biggest money around. This is potentially the best Dubai WC field of my life if they all make it.

About that "dirt." According to the RacingPost article, Kock called it a SAND track, and also said, "The kickback from just behind the front rank is bad, the slower horses get it in the face and sometimes it's so severe that they battle to breathe."
Sounds like the tracks I've seen in Japan, and I have serious doubts that any American horses are going to do well on the new Meydan surface if it's like that.

De Kock's comments drew my attention, too, BaroqueAgain!
But I will be very surprised and shocked if Sheikh Mo transformed his main track to a sandy beach.
Hope we are going to see a World Cup run on a real conventional dirt this year!

The Dubai Duty Free has been renamed the Dubai Turf following a change in sponsorship. DP World takes over the backing of the 1m1f Group 1, which will this year be worth $6 million

Amazing that a racecourse out in the desert would have a dirt track that's on the sandy side. The kickback at Nad Al Sheba was really bad too, but I guess it's been so long since it closed people have forgotten about that. People will complain about anything and everything.

FWIW, the turf course is the main track at Meydan not the dirt.

His trainer Katsuhiko Sumii has made it clear that Epiphaneia's first choice would be Dubai World Cup on dirt.
That's an interesting move!!
I'm sure that he will be selected.

Toast of New York has been purchased by Al Shaqab Racing. The colt will stay in training with Jamie Osborne but will be ridden by Frankie Dettori now. It looks like the Dubai World Cup is still the primary target
