And let's not overlook that he was half a year younger than momma the first time he got raced. Hopefully his mind will grow up a bit more in the months to come, and he'll catch on to the thrill of coming in at the head of the pack.
And keep in mind he's only half his mother.....he's also half his father. Who started Jan 7th of his 3yr old year (4th) and broke his maiden in his 2nd try on March 4th.

So, is he ahead, or behind? ;)

Re watching it doesn't boost your confidence in this horse any more. He's really slow. :?

Just think how good he would look cantering around a hunter ring with a 7 year old on his saddle. She could wear binoculars to see other horses from on top of him. They would be so far below him while riding their ponies she would need them.

Great photo, 'Keet!
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

I think it was TVG that posted a video of him schooling in the paddock, surprised at how many people think he should be gelded

I'd say he is where he should be. As it's been said, he isn't his sire OR his dam. He is Coz, and he is right where he should be in HIS development. I'm anxious to see what the next few works for him will be like. Regardless, I think that team Zenyatta now knows that they've got their work cut out with this one. Here's hoping little brother is a bit easier to work with.

An all TB horse show was held this weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park. One of the entries was a 7 year old Street Cry -- Ashado gelding. Having an impeccable pedigree is no guarantee that the foal will be a good racehorse.

speaking of Street Cry, my husband and I both think the white marking on Coz's head reminds us of the marking that Street Cry had.... I need to look up some pix of Street Cry again - but we thought the marking on Coz looked similar.

After looking at some of the videos, Coz really seems like a handful to handle. I hope he doesn't really hurt someone at some point.
