I did a double-take when I saw this post...probably because Divine Fortune died Aug. 27 this year. :(
When I opened the link, I see that this is an article from 2014.

He finished almost exactly the way he started 2015. Wiggle It Jiggleit was simply superb in capturing the $300,000 Hap Hansen Progress Pace on Monday evening at Dover Downs in a track record 1:48 2/5 mile.

And last night, Heza Dasha Fire's half-brother, Ima a Fearless Hero, won Los Al's Two Million Futurity (AKA The Deuce). A stunning coup for their dam, Dasha Freda, and unlikely to be duplicated anytime soon.

Balmoral: Large crowd bids farewell to Illinois track

A blanket of fog had descended on Balmoral Park and rain was falling but cars were streaming into the parking lot. There was not a seat to be had in the dining room and there were lines at the betting windows in the crowded grandstand.

Sixth straight $3 million night at the Meadowlands

Competitive racing and healthy dividends--including a $12,520 trifecta headed by 19-1 outsider Montalbano Bi in race five--incentivized punters to wager a total of $3,201,415 on Friday (February 19) evening's harness racing program at The Meadowlands, marking a sixth straight card with over $3 million in all-sources handle.

Recent harness racing programs at The Meadowlands have been full of upsets, and Friday (February 19) evening's 14-race card was no different. Only three favorites proved victorious, and of the 11 non-favorites to prevail, Crosbys Clam Bake ($19.20) kicked clear authoritatively in the night's featured $25,000 Open Handicap Trot--his second such win of the meet.

Not sure if this story is appropriate for the Board, but it's serious stuff.

Fracking behind Standardbred Birth Defects?
A number of foals born on the Sayre, Pennsylvania standardbred farm operated by Meadowlands owner Jeff Gural over the last three years have developed an affliction known as dysphagia, which prevents them from swallowing properly. And investigators are trying to figure out what is behind the problem and, in particular, whether it has anything to do with fracking.

The story was first reported by the Ithaca Journal.

Gural said the farm’s water supply is behind the problem and that the water has a high concentration of manganese. However, he wasn’t 100 percent convinced that a gas well drilled directly next to the farm was the culprit.

“The jury is still out,” he said. “That’s what we’re really trying to figure out. I am suspicious. My wife isn’t and she’s a geologist. We have a difference of opinion.”

Mullins Pair Awaits Demonstrative in Iroquois

For Demonstrative to nail down his third Calvin Houghland Iroquois Hurdle Stakes Saturday, May 14 at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, the 2014 champion steeplechaser will have to beat one other previous Iroquois winner and a pair of stakes winners from the barn of Ireland's champion steeplechase trainer Willie Mullins.

Rawnaq won the Iroquois, Shaneshill in 2nd and Nichols Canyon in 3rd. Seems like Nichols Canyon didn't like the fences (they're bigger than the hurdles in the UK), and Danny Mullins' ride on Shaneshill left a bit to be desired...Rawnaq will be targeting Cheltenham next year which will be very exciting for US jumps racing fans :)
