Re: Smoke Glacken pensioned

He only got 30 mares this year, so there had to be something going on. The two breeding seasons prior to that he got 46 and 49 mares and was getting about 66% mares in foal.

Ugh, its bad news. Dislocated ankle and codylar fracture. Hopefully they can save her. But dislocated is always a bad thing.

Don't know. The announcers after the race said Secret Compass went down and John Velazquez was down too.

Re: Smoke Glacken pensioned

Summer Squall was 17 when pensioned, El Gran Senor was 19. It just depends on the stallion.

Re: Breeder's Cup Friday

Has any mare won Champion 3yo, and Champion Older Mare 2x in a row, back to back like that? Gamely could count but two of her awards were split. She was named 1967 Champion 3yo filly by the Thoroughbred Racing Association and Full Sail was named the Champion by the DRF. Gamely was named Champion Ha...

Re: Breeder's Cup Friday

With the speed bias... think Beholder might have the edge here. But then Royal Delta can be on front too and Mike's riding her... hmmm. Hope Princess will be close to the pace today. This is actually one of the races where I don't care who wins at all (ok I might be a tiiiny bit more happier if Pri...

Plus 20 years ago, he won the 1993 Mile at Santa Anita. But I could see 5 horses winning it. Al Thakhira, Kitten Kaboodle(though...

Centralintelligence walking to the ambulance. Sad but at least he is walking, I thought a jockey stood coming into the stretch but couldn't tell who it was.

Re: Breeder's Cup Friday

@horseracinghl "Owner Ken Ramsey livid with J. Castellano's ride on Bobby's Kitten "He'll never ride that one again. I can't believe he put him on the lead" Doesn't surprise me at all. I remember Ramsey saying all the Kitten's Joy's race the same and if a jockey can't ride them the way he wants, th...
