The article about Order of St. George being the most popular freshman sire of 2019 also mentioned that Hawbill only got 39 this year. Poet's Word only got 30. Woosh.
I'm guessing the few amount of mares is the reason he was sold to be a flat/national hunt stallion earlier this year.

Re: Across the pond

I wonder what Coolmore did with De Coronado , the tall, handsome full bother of Zenyatta? He'd be six now and, even if he never amounted to much on the track, with a pedigree like that, wouldn't someone be willing to stand him? :? I can't confirm this, its just rumors I found in a couple places. Ho...

Re: Stallion News

Authorized and Bodemeister (?!) are off to Turkey. http://www.yarisdergisi.com/two-new-stallions-added-to-jockey-club-of-turkeys-roster/ I'm kind of surprised Darley would part with Authorized at all. Their French base is usually where they send their less popular stallions/less successful stallion...

With the names I see on that list of top-class fillies and mares, I wouldn't be surprised if the hammer price for some of those distaffers set new F-T records.
The Fasig Tipton record for broodmare/broodmare prospect is $10 million.

I put the article in the Stallion News but I think when a stallion of his caliber is pensioned it needs its own thread.
They also pensioned Milwaukee Brew and Sligo Bay.

It's interesting that Raven's Pass, winner of the 10-furlong BC Classic, has sired such a good sprinter.
Ya never know...
Raven's Pass was a miler. The BC Classic was his only win over 8f.

Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

That is just... a REALLY inelegant, unfortunate name. Its the name of a National Park in Australia. It doesn't sound bad with proper pronunciation. Is it something like, KAH-KADU? Anyway, I Googled it and the park looked stunning in all of the photos I saw. This is kind of weird but someone ...

Though not official it is most likely that 2yo filly, Amafli Sunrise, will be retired after being sick for a month. They do not think she will be able to return to her former level.

I see that Bay of Plenty is listed as a padrillo on El Turf, but no stud farm listed. Anyone know where he's standing? Most of El Turf requires an account to view. Is it free? Its free but prepare for your inbox to be sent tons of crap emails everyday not just from them. I blocked their emails afte...

This race has had some pretty good fields the last few years, and you can't really fault the west coasters for preferring to run in the Awesome Again on home turf, like you can't fault the east coasters for running at Belmont. A race date change for one of these two would probably do them both good...

Apologies if this was already answered, but does anyone know who Union Strike was bred to? I thought Bolt d’Oro but recently someone said she was sent to Frankel? Ruis said she was going to Bolt d'Oro, then she was consigned to the 2018 Keeneland November Sale and while she RNA'd, I think Juddmonte...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Just saw this from a well know education farm on twitter. A 2yo thoroughbred filly by Holy Roman Empire https://mobile.twitter.com/DPR_Breaking/status/1177133747558207488 IMG_20190926_201432.jpg Is that the same filly that sold at Magic Millions? I guess it almost has to be. There were pictures in ...

Wonder where Tizdejavu moved to. He's not on Crestwood's website anymore.

EDIT: To the shock of literally no one, Revolutionary is off to South Korea.
he doesn't have a report of mares bred for 2019. i wonder if he moved before the season or if there was no interest.

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

She sold, unreserved, for $14,000. Is that a decent price? I watched. They had to adjust the camera. While she does have racing lines, in my opinion, it was really high for her page. Under her first 4 dams there is one stakes placed runner in Panama, nothing else. She sold for $14,000 because she i...
