Re: Black Thoroughbreds

Love this guy, Toddy is my hubby’s pet name. Gonna have to bet this guy if he makes it to the Derby or do a future wager on him.

Re: Stallion News

Kinda similar to the death of Sebring in Australia just a few weeks ago at the age of 13. Sometimes these things happen, but it’s still heartbreaking and sad.

Re: 2019 Foals

Yes he seems to have thrown pretty nice foals considering how his looks have been critiqued by some Granted he isn’t the typical pretty pony but he sure could run. And his foals so far are very nice.

Re: Sad state of breeding

Very true, but everything in life seems to based on instant gratification in the social media age. Patience is no longer a virtue.

Like many things, longevity doesn’t factor into the equation.

I miss the days of my younger years when things moved at a slower pace.

It was a long shot from the beginning...under 300 days gestation just isn't long enough...DoDad was too premature. I posted the Tweet above from Anchor&HopeStallions about the dummy foal because sometimes these sorts of things turn out okay but, sadly, sometimes they don't. Sorry I posted about him...

I saw a pick of Nodouble (USA) today on twitter. I knew that he was the sire of Mairzy Doates (USA), the winner of the inaugural runnning of the Japan Cup in 1981. She is one of my all-time favorites. But this is the first time I come acorss a pick of her sire Nodouble. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/...

He'd maybe have run through the end of 2018 unless he came from an amazing female family. There is no way he would be running in 2019. In my lifetime I've seen a 2yo season essentially become pointless and the spacing in between starts increase. Catholic Boy is getting a long break. From what? His ...

Sparrow, how sweet is that story. I’m sure that that those at Coolmore we’re also heartbroken since she had been there close to 3 years. I wish I could have seen her in person, I remember that lovely photo of her and her trainer, so beautiful.

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

I can totally relate. If my dad had trained horses instead of working in automotive mfg., I would have cried my eyes out when a favorite left the stable. He must be pretty laid back for her to be so attached. Very sweet of her dad to have his arm around her to comfort her. Very bittersweet moment.
