Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

Bad break or no, that was a really ugly race by Coliseum. A horse did seem to come across him at the top of the stretch but I'm not sure he was showing any finish anyway. Yuck. Re: VIEWING TVG IN CALIFORNIA

DISH satellite gets both but you have to buy an expensive package with lots of stuff you don't want. I was horrified to discover a set of channels featuring titles like "Schoolgirls Wet and Wild." :o (And that's a sample title--most of them I couldn't print!)

http://www.santaanita.com/events/chandelier-room-event/#.XCF2_VxKjIV Believe it or not, I'll be there. Just wanted to try it once. Trip report? The food was pretty good and the whiskey tasting--well, let's just say it's a good thing they stopped pouring at 3 p.m.! But why on earth did they h...

Peace Rules - wow - that's a name from the past. Loved that horse - a real competitor. Am I remembering right that Bobby Frankel trained him?
I', pretty sure yes but I do tend to get him confused with Midas Eyes. :?

Re: Old Bones: The Story of Exterminator

I had a kid's paperback in the 60's--read it over and over. Especially touching, 'Bones' retirement with his pony Peanuts (and Peanuts 2).

Hoping Collected gets good opportunities --at his best, he ran some brilliant races and should be desirable as City Zip continues to sire real runners.

Re: 2019 Graded Stakes

Question for those, like me, who were horse racing fans in the 60-70s before the graded stakes system was implemented....was there something wrong with our sport back then that got corrected? 1. Europe did it. 2. Apparently American breeders are too stupid to be able to figure out a horse's quality...

I had no idea Volponi was there--or even still around! Overall that's not at all a bad roster; some of the younger ones could turn out to be very good,

Kingly, who of course broke his maiden at first asking at Del Mar for Baffert, is a full brother to
Mohaymen and a half to BCJ winner New Year's Day. (Tapit x Justwhistle Dixie, by Dixie Union.)
