Re: derby question

Sounds like you have an excellent plan, BlindLucky--enjoy! Immediately after our trip this spring we were both thinking "It was a blast but never again"--but really, although Oaks Day is demented, it was tolerable and Derby Day at Keeneland was great. For $25 each we got a table in the Equestrian ro...

Re: derby question

There are also shuttles from Papa John's for about 10 bucks. If you aren't staying in Louisville there's no need to book hotels now. We booked at the newer HIE in Lexington no more than 6 weeks ahead.

Re: 2 year olds of 2013

Shared Belief's race was as good a one as I can remember in California. My only concern is that horses that are that brilliant at sprints often don't route. But it WAS brilliant, although I wasn't ever particularly impressed by Kobe's Back.

Re: derby question

Most people are forced to buy seat tickets on the secondary market like Derbybox--you can easily pay hundreds of dollars for a crappy bench seat on the apron. If you don't want to do GA, my suggestion is to get seats for Oaks Day, almost as festive and crazy--then go to Keeneland for simulcasting of...

My heart sank when I looked through the PPs for the Marathon. I don't think any of these horses can win it. Gonna play Old Time Hockey though on back class, and he can't be any slower than most of the rest.

Re: Breeders' Cup News & Notes

Chriselliam (sp?) was getting tons of love from TVG and HRTV earlier this week. Very strong eager gallop over the Santa Anita turf. Everyone hated Tap It Rich's work :( --pulling and trying to bear out. The Juvenile might be the time to play the "other Baffert" angle with New Year's Day. :)

Terrible to hear about Take Control--a horse that just had no luck.

Tap It Rich is a half to Adriano.

If it had been Mike Repole it would have been seen as a clear snub of California and/or the BC. But Shug, nah, he's doing it for the horse.

Its thin on the colt side, but Baffert keeps pumping out the fillies--Georgia (by Tiz Wonderful) at a mile on Friday, Miss Personality (by Broken Vow) sprinting Sunday both won impressively. (But where's JoJo Warrior? :( )

Except to Larry Jones. From what he said on HRTV earlier it sounded as though he expected Joyful Victory to have the lead.

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

Just scanning the workouts at Hollywood Park and there's an unraced gelding named Pot Roast. Purim x. bye Love, by Hennesey. What's with these beef names? I think I posted "Charbroiled" on the old thread.
