Fairyland, i/f to American Pharoah, sold for $700K to Clarkland Farm.
Today I learned that Coolmore owns (or owned?) two mares born in 2015 named Fairyland

Re: Keeneland November 2019

Really surprised Take Charge Brandi only went for $3.2 million when she sold in 2015 for $6 million. Also being that she is a 1/2 to Omaha Beach, she is only 7, her first foal is only 2 and her female family(being a grand daughter of Take Charge Lady). In 2015 and 2019, Hill n Dale is listed as the...

Announced a lil while ago,..Yoshida to Winstar
While he is an interesting stallion, I think they were a bit ambitious on the stud fee.
They have to get as much $$$ as they can before they sell him to the JBBA in three years.

10 of the 24 entries either are trained or were originally trained by Joseph or Aidan O'Brien.

I don't know what to do with this information but there you go.

Re: Breeders Cup Discussion?

I'm absolutely heartbroken Mongolian groom is gone. If I recall correctly, he was one of two horses in the trainers barn. And that the trainer and his family were also the owners with the trainers son being assistant trainer. I believe the owner and trainer are also older(80s maybe?) Meaning Mongol...

Re: Breeders Cup Discussion?

We made it to the last furlong of the Breeder’s Cup for the absolute worst thing to happen. Of all horses, did it have to be the one of the owner-trainer who didn’t think he wanted to run then paid tens of thousands to supplement him? F*ck.

Re: Melbourne Cup-Marmelo

I don't know, it's devastating to connections, but if vets believe that the horses are at risk, and they have a CT scan that proves it, why take the chance? Pretty sure 95% of the trainers in existence who have sent out a horse who broke down believed the horse to be "perfectly fine" a couple days b...

Too Darn Hot for £50,000? No thanks. He's impeccably bred, and I guess he does have 3 G1 wins... but... meh, he was retired unsound halfway through his 3 year old season. Maybe in 10 years 50k will seem like a steal. He definitely has the world at his feet. https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/bloo...

Well, that really freaking sucks. I was wondering yesterday where he was and if he was retired. Adena stands so few new stallions these days, and I think Delta Prince ticked a lot of boxes.

Re: Honor Code ...

I don't think it is discouraging, it's realistic. He's had a good, not great, start, and they can't justify a fee increase or keeping it the same until he gets some stakes winners. If he was no longer in demand, he wouldn't be at Lane's End standing for $30,000. He covered 138 mares in 2019 so I wou...

Re: New Stallions of 2020

I'd say the best example would have to be Fairy King. Full brother to all time great Sadler's Wells, Fairy King he broke down in his first race and was retired. He went on to sire Encosta De Lago, Falbrav, Oath, Hellisio, etc. Kodiac was a G3 placed brother to G1 winner and emerging sire (at the tim...
