Re: No Whip Friday @ Santa Anita

Horses aren't meant to be standing in stalls 22 hours a day and probably weren't designed specifically to be ridden but alas, here we are. TSG should have actually had the balls to punish poor whip usage on horses who are clearly exerting themselves to the fullest - a very hefty fine, suspension, w...

Re: 2019 Foals

I loved Tiggy Wiggy when she was racing, and given the success that Galileo has had when crossed with sprinting mares, I wouldn't be surprised if that's our first look at the 2022 2,000 Guineas winner.

Re: The Hurdle Thread

Tiger Roll is an all time great. Not going to lie, I did tear up after he cleared the last. I feel lucky to have been able to watch that live (as in, on a livestream)

Unfortunately, there was a very bad fall at the first and the screens went up. Not sure who it was or how the horse is.

... NYRA is incredibly easy to watch live. Free account and boom, access to HD livestream. Not sure if one free hoop is too many?

Re: The Hurdle Thread

oh, they'll be watching. There were two fatalities at Aintree today already, with Forest Des Aigles breakdown being incredibly gruesome. Either way, I am in love with Tiger Roll. He is such a tough little (and I mean little) guy. His last run in the Cross Country at Cheltenham was awesome, and he is...

Re: 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival

And that G1 win as a two year old came at Saint Cloud on turf. He also won (an albeit weak running of) the G1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly. I think after his flop (after being tossed to the sharks) in last year's Juddmonte International, they finally realized that, even though he does have good turf ...

Re: Stallion News

They don't say what the problem was so its 50/50, in my opinion . Kingmambo missed seasons/significant portions of seasons and was pensioned because of neck issues. Kingmambo was the first thing I thought of when I read about Deep Impact's neck issues. Who would have thought that Deep Impact coveri...

Re: 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival

I think as long as Godolphin is a thing, the UAE Derby will be 100 points. It's never been a good indicator of who will win the KY Derby, but it is another chance for Sheikh Mohammed's horses to get in the starting gate.

Re: 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival

Not the most thrilling field, but with no clear superstar, it should be competitive enough. I wouldnt be surprised if Thunder Snow bounces back and wins again. I'd also love if Gunnevera finally got his day in the sun. I also have a soft spot for Yoshida. Decisions, decisions.

Lancaster Bomber is moving to South Africa.
No. He is shuttling there for the Southern Hemisphere breeding season.
Arent the importing/exporting and quarantine regulations of horses in South Africa too strict to allow shuttling?

Re: Stallion News

It's nice that Adena sends their pensioners and less successful stallions to Old Friends to live out their days. Touch Gold, Alphabet Soup, now Einstein. They see out their careers of almost all of their stallions, with a handful going to regional markets like Indiana, Washington, California, etc. B...

In what world do Ghostzappers not run long and mature slow....? I kind of get your argument but he's a pretty terrible example. He's kind of the definition of being unpopular at the sales and having late bloomers. His top progeny are Shaman Ghost (broke his maiden March of his 3 y/o year, won Graded...

Godolphin's very talented and incredibly promising multiple group winning stayer Brundtland broke down in his 4 year old debut in the Nad Al Sheba Trophy at Meydan yesterday. This one stings. RIP.

Re: Stallion News

Breeding older proven producers to new sires used to be a thing. I remember hearing a phrase similar to, "Send proven mares to new stallions, and new mares to proven stallions" on here. I mean, I think it kind of used to be considered a good way to get a new stallion off to the right start. And LNJ...
