Re: Stallion News

I'm not concerned about his safety as a stallion in Korea, but after seeing how blasé the Korean racing industry is about how they dispose of the 90% of their horses that aren't at the elite level... bleh. His progeny better be fast.

Re: Stallion News

Have to say, I am not a big fan of the barrier at the front of that quarantine stall. First off, wood should never be used in a quarantine facility. It is incredibly difficult to truly disinfect it compared to concrete, metal, plastic, etc. Second, those bars look just wide enough apart to allow a ...

Re: Is American Pharoah a turf sire

Coolmore was built on stallions who could sire runners on turf and dirt. They pioneered it by importing sons of Northern Dancer to win on the turf and stand in Ireland. Then their top American based stallions like Giant's Causeway and Scat Daddy have proved to be able to sire winners on any surface ...

He has lovely, very looooong legs. His back is a bit long and his neck on the shorter side, but he looks like a very nice boy. Kind of like a Whippet.

Re: Stallion News

There were a bunch of horses killed a couple years ago in South Florida and they had chunks of flesh taken out of them in a manner that looked like they were taken for meat. Almost all were more in the lawn ornament category (pets, family trail horses), though the case of Debbie Stevens' grand prix ...

What... a bizarre and heartbreaking scenario. I also noticed that Cyrus Alexander was half to Super Saver. Such a loss. Condolences to the connections of the farm, stallions, and the night watchman who was murdered as well.

I remember watching this video in July about the new stallion barn they had built for the 2019 season https://www.facebook.com/100328186684492/videos/374986096472602/ To think that half the occupants are now gone, all in different and tragic ways... it's going to take a while for them to bounce back...

Re: Stronach v. Stronach

A Paulick article a few years ago talked about most of the racing at Hialeah being unsanctioned quarter horse match races. And I thought it was interesting that Stronach wanted to move the Preakness to Laurel because Pimlico is in such bad shape and would "cost too much to fix" yet dumped millions ...

When it reaches over 100 degrees in Australia, do they cancel racing for safety?

thanks.
From what I've seen lately, they've been moving post times up earlier in the day to avoid running at the hottest point in the afternoon.

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

With the pretty major changes that have been made to the race each year of its running, what are the odds that 2020 is the last running of the Pegasus :? Or maybe (definitely) this $3,000,000 purse is a concrete and sustainable model for at least a couple years.
