Re: TV Discussion Thread

As someone who absolutely loved the books and the early show (and held viewing parties in my dorm room for Season 2, to the derision of many of my classmates), this has been surreal to witness. I started to get concerned about the writing in Season 3, fell out of love by Season 4, and started to act...

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

oh my gosh thank you for posting that glorious win by dear Gander!! what a smart horse - he rode a perfect race - didn't bother anyone, stalked the leader - and knew when to make his move for the lead - one of my most favorite races ever! I remember watching it live and could not stop smiling after...

To celebrate Bodexpress' adventure today, let's all recall the greatest riderless horse race of the modern era: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2bG90Qxdc

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

It appears the real winner of the race was Bodexpress! Twitter is hilarious right now, and it's nice to see some mainstream positivity. And I have to give him credit- he switched leads beautifully the whole way around!

I do hope they run him in a maiden one of these days...

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

2 gates malfunction and the race is deemed void. Let's go big- all gates malfunction and they awkwardly back the horses out and go home. I can dig it. Signalman is the stringhalt horse, right? I only caught War of Will when he was looking okay, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he had a hind...

Alright, what's going to happen during the Belmont? I vote the starting gate tractor dies and they have to forfeit the race. 2 gates malfunction and the race is deemed void. Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

That was a great trip and I don't think it will come back very fast on figures, but I believe that was a very strong effort given the horses who got up for second and third. No other speed stuck around at the end. A very nice horse, and it's what he deserves for saving the sport two weeks ago!

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

Oh no, not human error... we have enough of a mess already.

I'm so happy that War of Will won, that will cause amazing drama for the rest of the year. Did Owen get up for second, I hope?

EDIT: No, it was Everfast. RIP my wallet.

YESSSS GIVE ME ALL THE DRAMA

Glad Bodexpress seemed fine. Oddly enough, the exact same thing happened at Suffolk today.

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

I hope no one from TBC is in attendance, because an article on Google News has made it clear that it's kind of a disaster zone in the grandstand.  "Those attending the 2019 Preakness Stakes will likely avoid the wet conditions of this year's Kentucky Derby, but that's if they stay cle...

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

Twist drew perfect here, love him in this race.

Bourbon War (who apparently is no secret, no value on him), War of Will, and Owendale underneath. I'll pass on Improbable because I don't think he ran that well in the Derby and Baffert's b-listers don't tend to do much in this race.

In return, West is asking the owners of the other four horses to give him $5 million apiece if Maximum Security finishes ahead of their horse in the official chart.

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

The majority of the people I see upset about this are people who just handicap and don't actually care about the horses. Telling. I don't agree with this. If anything, any serious bettor that I've spoken to agrees with it. Not that I know many. But I do know enough who care more about handicapping ...
