Re: The movie thread

If you like The World's End then I also suggest Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz which have the same comedy duo with Simon Pegg. Hilarious! Oh yeah, I've seen them a billion times! I actually went to see Shaun of the Dead in the theater three times because half the audience was drunk the first two ti...

Re: The movie thread

I went to see The World's End yesterday. What a fun movie! The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that I spent $13 on a matinee ticket and a small drink. So expensive. I loved how the movie totally spirals out of control, and who knew that some of the most entertaining fight scenes this y...

Re: TV Discussion Thread

I finally just started watching 24 on Netflix. I never watched it when it was on TV, so it's completely new to me.

So, what I want to know is... how the hell am I supposed to sleep when I have all of the episodes available to me back-to-back?!

Re: Wise Dan

I want Wise Dan's autograph - maybe a Moneigh! If you ever have the chance with Lopresti again, do what I did! I was soooo in love with English Channel, and had one of his hats from Lane's End with me. His groom let him chew on the brim, so I have his "signature" in huge teeth marks and drool on th...

Re: Fillies & Mares

Why is it so hard for people on TV (at least on HRTV) to pronounce Emollient? There is no long "o" sound in there, and it does not rhyme with "caliente". It's an actual word, and they seem to never have seen or heard it before. Meh.

Richard Mandella said this morning that Setsuko is back at the track galloping, had been recovering from a suspensory injury. When asked what his plans were for him, he said that they were doing the Seabiscuit thing and want to eventually win the Big Cap with him :)

Re: In Memoriam

It's hard to tell if this was mentioned in the old forums, but I didn't remember hearing anything about this. Shaggy Mane died in 2011. I was checking on some of her foals and noticed she didn't have one listed for '12 or '13. There's a death report on her for 2011 :(

I got my driver's license at about 10am on my 16th birthday. That was about 24 years ago, and I can count on one hand the times I've had to parallel park since then :D

I'm wondering if Reneesgotzip will try the Turf Sprint against the boys again, since she was third in it last year. Honestly, it would seem a softer spot than heading to the dirt against Groupie Doll and Dance to Bristol.

Re: TV Discussion Thread

Sleepy Hollow starts Monday night. I'll give it a shot, since I like the material AND it's filmed here in North Carolina--at least parts of it. They're using Tryon Palace in New Bern, near where I went to college, as one of the sets :D
